I think Street Fighter getting the Smash treatment at EVO would be fine.

It's not like 3S immediately went away after 4 hit.  Hell SSF2T pops up here and there too.

I hope the new game also shakes things up in the tournament scene, too.  Here's hoping for some new blood in the top 16.

This will be the most interesting thing about SFV. I have a feeling the competition is only going to get more hazardous and bombastic. A lot of players from other games will probably jump on the SFV train immediately.

Yeah, but how often does 3S/2T get airtime/tournament sides that are extremely popular beyond veterans?

Stuff was popular enough leading up to the past year or two.  It's died down now, sure, but interest remained in previous games for a while after SF4's release.  I suspect Ultra will still be around at all the major tournies for another couple of years, in some form, but will understandably be way less popular.

Yeah I'd be shocked if Ultra didn't stick around for a few months to a year after SF5. That's just the way it goes.

Hell there was that one EVO (2008? 2009?) that had HDR, 3S, and SF4 as main games
