It's gotta happen eventually. FFX made it over. It's leaving money on the table given how no matter how bad the port, they still make money.

The PS2 version still looks great, but I'm very happy this is finally happening. FFXII is a fantastic JRPG with some really great artwork. It's going to be nice to see it in HD or just cleaned up in general. As much as I like FFX, it's animation and presentation don't even come close to XII. XII will really benefit from a HD port.

I got the Steelbook because it was the same price from BB with GCU. Haven't downloaded the old music, but it lets you pick which music you want when starting a new game. Didn't try selecting the old music though.

Maybe with the latest update? It did seem faster this week.

I've always put my console into rest mode and my downloads go much faster for whatever reason.

Don't know if my luck is just bad, but some of these steals and drops feel like they are taking much longer to get than in the PS2 version. I did get lucky on a Salamand Halcyon though.

This. Hunts is basically the star of the game. International introduced trials that are basically compressed Hunts.

I fought the walking Bird enemies at Giza at like level 1 and stomped them and was confused.

I did the entire sunstone thing like it was complete cake. I'm not sure what happened. I've played FFXII like four times now and I never remember going through it that fast. It was really disorienting.

Fight the Werewolves or Wild Saurian if you need to. Barheim Passage is still hard if you go there right away. At Ginza, the walking bird guys are easy at lv1. You may be thinking of them at the Westersand, where they are about 5x stronger than the Ginza Plains versions. I was worried about what they said too, but I haven't really felt any difficulty lowering yet (at Henne Mines in the storyline).

And to answer your question on steam, you can open whatever pots you want. The Zodiac Spear is just a regular item in a pot now. There are better weapons, and the Uhlan job isn't that great, either.
