The most unnerving thing I've noticed about the pattern of "predatory/shady male feminist", aside from cases of sexual assault, child pornography, and other activities that may or may not get you permanently banned from NeoGAF like Dennis, is when they espouse a sort of self-hatred of men. "Ugh, why are men like me such garbage?" and they even volunteer themselves be masochistic punching bags. It's like they are simultaneously burdening the women around them with the duty of relieving them of their shame/guilt by association while they fish for their approval and enabling (and participating in) the most pathological form of bitterness which posits all of their problems (and, through opposition, all their solutions) are from "otherness" - maleness, masculinity, internalized misogyny, etc. With such a guilty conscience on behalf of an entire gender (and a desire to empower the other gender as the moral authority), it isn't really surprising that it can often be a case of projection. Amir0x and Devin Faraci are probably on the far ends of the scale, while Joss Whedon is more of a benign example.
