Remember when I mentioned Teen Vogue earlier this week?

http://www.teenvogue.com/story/donald-trump-is-gaslighting-america?mbid=social_twitter&mbid=social_twitter

:angelabasset

Teen Vogue has been killing it recently. Forget WaPo and NYT, everybody needs a TV sub.

benji, will you please ask these people where they are seeing this narrative that liberals are blaming black people for Trump's victory?
Quote from: Angelus Errare
Trump is simply engaging in a centuries old American time honored past time of blaming blacks, it's as American as July 4th really. Or in this case he's thanking then but the left will start the blaming soon enough.

Quote
Hee. He's not doing anything that so many so-called-liberals aren't doing right now, and what white America has done for centuries. Throwing any blame that can be mustered at the blacks to reignite that old status quo, and shift the blame to adjacent targets. Never mind the show of numbers that came to oppose him. Nope. It wasn't white Americans that didn't show up and to keep fascism in check. It's always anyone and everyone else.
Same people that aren't going to do a damned thing about the militarization of the police forces across the country, or lift a finger to preserve the national reserves.

Quote
Operation Blame the Darkies is in full swing. Blacks were the front line of defense as per usual. The numbers were there. In particular black women put in the work. This scapegoating bs is not just sad, it was completely predictable.

Quote from: Angelus Errare
Yup. It's always fine to blame black people; it's so normalized because it's part of America. Now the moment you question/blame the white vote or even suggest that racism/sexism/Islamphobia/homophobia were huge reasons Trump won…you'll get essays from people talking about empathising and reaching across the isle, seeing things from their perspective and to get off our high horse, coming together as one.

Slayven of course with the insight.

Quote
Do hurt them with the truth
Quote
Almost too much truth

Thank god we have to slayven add that.  He thinks so critically and has such original thoughts.

I read liberal news pretty much exclusively and I'm not seeing, "It's the fault of black people that Trump is president."  Not even on The Root are they suggesting that this narrative is being pushed.  What the hell are these posters seeing that I am not.  What liberals are blaming blacks for Trump?
sigh

The only blame I've seen being thrown around is going towards the GOP for all the ridiculous voter ID laws that got pushed through over the past couple of years.

You say that now but think how much worse the voter fraud would have been without those laws protecting our election.

And do you really think RT does some good reporting besides the propaganda stuff?  I've never read them before but now I'm thinking of checking them out.

I never said reporting, I made sure to say interviews and guests/roundtables.

They simply have on people who wouldn't get a regular audience elsewhere. And I don't mean Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, though those (and their lesser party foes) of course are two prominent examples. But writers for more out of the mainstream magazines and such.

Democracy Now! has had essentially all the same views (and guests) as RT for years but nobody seems to mind them much.

RT has picked up the propaganda in recent years compared to say 2010 when I don't think the homeland was paying as much attention to the US broadcasts. All those anchors quit over it rather publicly.

But mainly I was arguing against shooting the messenger and destroying the message without ever knowing what even the headline was. That was how al Jazeera was treated for years.

But without proper market penetration you have no real chance at brand building and expanding the franchise.
But then, I guess I can't expect GAFers to understand much about penetration though...

I cast no shade.

Evilore, your recent posts in political topics look to make us see reality and come together as one, and not fall into hyperbole regarding the terrible things that may come.

But what I'm saying is you cannot refute any comments as to how horrible this may be. It is a bottomless well of terrible garbage, of state-endorsed trash views. There is no positive outlook as it comes to state-sanctioned televised propaganda, no upside to this; no way of saying "but if we just love and/or tolerate each other" here. This is going to be a net negative for the country and probably the western world as a whole.

That's all.
LOL.

This IMO is why you don't cull out all your dissenting POV posters for wrong-think.....Or allow your mods to do it. This is the sort of shit that often gets somewhat self-policed when you have opposing viewpoints lurking around but just invites a compounding of ignorances and dialing everything to a 10 when you don't.

....Benji and Numbers can't do it all.
