Came across this on Angry Metal Guy.

It's been a while since melodic death metal excited me this much.

Remember putting hardcore tracks like this on the original xbox harddrive so I had my personal soundtrack in the game Deathrow. (Some violent future sports game in which you could win the match by beating the opposing team to death. Played the shit out of that game in coop with a friend.)

Outside of this one and maybe one and a half others, High Crimes is so fucking disappointing, guess nine years was too long. Especially when your main bands put out albums actually pursuing the ideas behind founding this group in the first place. (Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die both have deliberately lifted the 80s metal/big hair rock tropes that Ironiclast mainlined...From Parts Unknown and Low Teens barely even pretended at times, Ironiclast is probably more like the midway point between Low Teens and The Big Dirty than Ex Lives is, "Graverobber" is pretty much an ETID song turned down a notch)

Oh god this song was in like every DJ's sets back in 2006. You had trance, prog, minimal techno, house guys all playing this. Probably one of the most influential songs from that timeframe along with "The Sky Was Pink".

Listening to this now:

the new armed is of course sensational, but frank turner isnt very happy about them somehow managing to steal an old unreleased demo of his, and using it in their song, and using his name. i have a hard time not loving everything they do.

Quote
The UK musician says he has “no idea” how the Detroit hardcore collective obtained archival vocal takes for “FT. FRANK TURNER”
Earlier this week, Detroit hardcore collective the Armed shared a new song called “FT. FRANK TURNER” as part of the Adult Swim Singles program. On Facebook, the Armed wrote that the track is “riddled with uncleared samples.” After the song came out, it caught the eye of UK musician Frank Turner, who said it contains archival vocal recordings of his and that he has “no idea how they got hold of it.”

“O...K. So the band The Armed (who I quite like) have put out a song using my name. Whatever to that,” Frank Turner tweeted on June 5. “But it also uses some recorded vocals of mine from a session about 8 years ago (a song I never finished).” He added that he’s “not very stoked about recordings getting used like that” and that “no one involved [is] getting back to him.”

Turner did say that, had the Armed asked him, he likely would have granted permission for use “because I think they’re ace,” but nevertheless condemned “raiding archives like this.” Find Frank Turner’s tweets below.

and then to top it all off, they used Frank Carters photo

lmao

So I'd mentioned about a year ago that all the music services (Amazon, Apple, Google) were ditching being able to upload your own music to stream which is how I typically listen to my music. Well I finally had some new albums I wanted to upload and with the upload feature gone on those I had to look around and finally tried Plex and damn this is AMAZING. I mean downside is having to leave the computer on while out but this is great having my whole PC music library available on the go. I should've figured out Plex years ago  :hyper
