I don't get it because he's bragging about an idea that he thinks will intentionally hurt people to make a point and he acknowledges that it's "sick" but also thinks it's going to make him look good and the implicit AND explicit reasoning behind it is straight up racism.

"You're all just as racist as me but won't admit it" and "you're fine with immigrants because you're not personally exposed to them" are staples of anti-immigration thought.

The idea is that the presence of swarthy foreigners is so obviously, objectively terrible that of course there would be a backlash if you had them come to your city. It's dumb and racist, but exactly the sort of thing MAGA hat types will connect with.

I'm sure a couple of these Dems will drop by when they can't reach the first debates.

I still have no idea how Sawell or Moulton makes it.

sometimes I check politico just to intentionally make myself mad

Quote
“We don’t really have a robust national message right now” on the economy, said Celinda Lake, a leading Democratic strategist and pollster. “We will tend to talk about things like paid leave and equal pay — and those things are all very popular policies. But they don’t add up to an economic message that is robust enough to win the presidency and beat Donald Trump, who talks about a very robust economic policy.”

Really, you have NO IDEA what to talk about?

Clean energy by 2050.

Fuck I can't wait until the debate with these people regurgitating king bernie's ideals. Bernie can literally tell Biden that his ARRA(that biden was tasked with) toned down the acceleration of clean energy.

WaPo reports that Trump has passed the 10,000 public lies mark as president. A glorious day in American history.

He's almost quadrupled the amount of lies he tells in public a day since his first year compared to this year. He went from 5.9 average lies a day in 2017, he's up to 23 a day this year.

Quote
The tide in the Senate is showing signs of turning against Stephen Moore, President Donald Trump’s pick for a seat on the Federal Reserve, with one member of Republican leadership voicing strong concern over his disparaging comments about women.

“His past writings are ridiculous,” Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) told reporters Monday evening. “I’m not enthused about supporting him, let’s put it that way.”

Pressed for her specific objections, Ernst added: “Look at his writings … I’m a woman.”

Moore, who has not yet officially been nominated, in a 2002 column decried the fact that the NCAA had allowed female referees. “Is there no area in life where men can take vacation from women?” he wrote.

He said woman should participate in sporting events “if and only if, they look like [sports journalist] Bonnie Bernstein,” adding that Bernstein should wear halter tops.

Nearly all 2020 presidential candidates aren’t using a basic email security feature

Quote
New data out by Agari  confirms just one presidential hopeful — Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren  — uses domain-based message authentication, reporting, and conformance policy — or DMARC . This email security feature sits on top of two existing security protocols, Sender Policy Framework (SKF) and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), which cryptographically verifies a sender’s email, and can mark emails as spam or reject them altogether if an email can’t be properly validates.

Agari, which has a commercial stake in the email security space, said the remaining 11 candidates it checked — including Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and presidential incumbent Donald Trump — do not use DMARC on their campaign domains.

The company warned that the candidates’ risk their campaigns being impersonated in spam campaigns and phishing attacks.
