Explain the "Biden led to Clarence Thomas!" accusations then?

IIRC he was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and presided over the hearings, sort of similar to the Kavanaugh hearings we had recently. He chose not to call witnesses that would have corroborated Anita Hill's accusations of sexual harassment, is generally seen as not having protected her from attacks when she was testifying, and didn't kill the nomination in committee.

Explain the "Biden led to Clarence Thomas!" accusations then?
He allowed the nomination out of committee and to the full Senate for a vote.

That much I have gathered.

However, most in opposition to Biden and Clarence Thomas situation articulate it as if he actually voted for and approved of him in total.

For example, Bootsy posted this tweet.

https://twitter.com/BootsRiley/status/1238349187160240128

The argument goes that Biden will personally pick and choose a conservative Judge for the SCOTUS. While letting it go to nomination and past the judicial hearing without hearing more evidence is pretty damning, it's not the exact same as voting for Thomas - which Biden didn't do - making the arguments of people such as Boots' moot, and in some ways, not even factual.

https://www.politico.com/states/california/story/2020/03/13/california-conservatives-will-hold-conference-featuring-bannon-despite-coronavirus-concerns-1267015

Quote
OAKLAND — The coronavirus has closed schools and knocked pro sports out of commission.

But not the California Republican Assembly.

The conservative group plans to soldier on with a conference of more than 200 next weekend in Tulare County that includes former White House adviser Steve Bannon and indicted former Trump aide George Papadopoulos on topics that include “the Deep State.”

As California organizations cancel meetings left and right and the World Health Organization has labeled the Covid-19 spread a pandemic, CRA Executive Director Carl Brickey said that the group will take plenty of precautions to protect members, but dubbed the response to the coronavirus "an overreaction."

"What’s going to happen when we truly have a public health crisis?" he asked in an interview. "People will just go, 'Oh jeez,' and they won’t take it seriously.”

Bannon is billed as the keynote speaker Saturday night at the events planned at the Visalia Lamp Liter Inn, where as many as 225 will attend the gathering of the California Republican Assembly of Tulare County, the home base of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.). Papadopoulos, who served time for lying to the FBI, and who just mounted an unsuccessful bid for Congress, will address the group Friday about his book, “Deep State Target.”

They didn't have a majority on the Committee to "kill it" like with Bork, they had a tie and I guess tradition is (or was) to not kill nominations on ties.

It's like John Kerry's infamous line. Biden voted against Thomas, for Thomas and then against Thomas because he got to vote three times.

Just checked on it and Bork wasn't actually killed in committee. They voted to send to the full Senate with a recommendation to reject, and then the Senate voted 58-42 against him.

That makes it seem like Thomas was always going to get a Senate vote, and the second committee vote (where they sent on the nomination without a recommendation) was more of a formality reflecting the results of the first one. But I don't really know how that works or worked then.

I believe the front runner of the Libertarian party dropped out in their primary so it's now between McAfee and Vermin Supreme.
You could actually vote for him in the general if McAfee loses.  :lol'
There never was a front runner this cycle, Jacob Hornberger is winning the primaries* and conventions so has become the front runner, and McAfee can't decide if he even remembers how to return to the country. The Party is not taking him seriously this time around, they are taking Supreme so because he's actually attending every event (which is what Supreme means by taking this campaign seriously, he's still for a mock campaign) while McAfee seems to be too busy hunting prostitutes around the Caribbean.

The Party is not going to give Supreme the nomination though they still intend on maintaining the fiction that The Party is a viable organization for holding ballot status.

*Lincoln Chafee so far has got like a total of 46 votes or something, and it's out of thousands cast too.

who exactly would get the nomination then
Unless somebody else enters I'm going to just assume it's Hornberger as he fits the profile. But it's not unusual for a late candidate who seems "electable" to win at the convention, Bob Barr declared for the nomination like the weekend before or something and The Party nominated him at the convention. Partly because the other candidate from that "respectable wing" endorsed him (both now are Trump MAGA people) and the remaining candidate, Mary Ruwart, has argued that child pornography should not be illegal inherently.

The primaries are not binding really in any way. Some of the primaries aren't even being contested but The Party has to run them due to the ballot status Gary Johnson achieved for them or else they'd get kicked off the ballot. I think Uncommitted has won one already and Hornberger was the only candidate to contest another one.
