Explain the "Biden led to Clarence Thomas!" accusations then?
IIRC he was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and presided over the hearings, sort of similar to the Kavanaugh hearings we had recently. He chose not to call witnesses that would have corroborated Anita Hill's accusations of sexual harassment, is generally seen as not having protected her from attacks when she was testifying, and didn't kill the nomination in committee.
Explain the "Biden led to Clarence Thomas!" accusations then?
He allowed the nomination out of committee and to the full Senate for a vote.
That much I have gathered.
However, most in opposition to Biden and Clarence Thomas situation articulate it as if he actually voted for and approved of him in total.
For example, Bootsy posted this tweet.
https://twitter.com/BootsRiley/status/1238349187160240128The argument goes that Biden will personally pick and choose a conservative Judge for the SCOTUS. While letting it go to nomination and past the judicial hearing without hearing more evidence is pretty damning, it's not the exact same as
voting for Thomas - which Biden didn't do - making the arguments of people such as Boots' moot, and in some ways, not even factual.
