I guess it's not inherently racist that this was called the "Wuhan flu" for a while, though there's definitely a possibly prejudiced historic pattern ("Spanish flu" is the poster child for this) but why use a name that is incorrect (I believe Coronaviruses are not actually flu, right ?) and vague ("Chinese" in particular, Wuhan is at least specific enough) instead of a much more precise accepted scientific denomination ? It's not 100% certain, AFAIK, that this is linked to the wet market and where it came from. As OnlyRegret pointed out earlier some of the suspected early cases weren't linked to it.
Trump insisting on a "foreign", "Chinese" virus is absolutely acting out of dishonest motivations which are wholly unhelpful at this point.
I'm sure the early stage response of the epidemic will be dissected and analyzed for many years, but while the Chinese response may be criticised, Euro and US governments all fell to the same complacency and late start inertia to fight this. Wuhan is a major city with economic ties to the whole word, you simply can't assume it won't fly in somehow.
