I think these would be cool for TIMU.

Very readable and the kindle versions of them are free with a Prime membership on amazon. They're super high level but have nice drawings and probably have less dumb shit than wiki pages? I like them anyway.

Well, that one does for me too, the three I clicked on all didn't. Thankfully from that page you can see all the ones that are free on Prime.

What makes philosophy on the continent of Europe so different and exciting? And why does it have such a reputation for being 'difficult'?

Continental philosophy was initiated amid the revolutionary ferment of the 18th century, philosophers such as Kant and Hegel confronting the extremism of the time with theories that challenged the very formation of individual and social consciousness.

Covering the great philosophers of the modern and postmodern eras – from Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida and Deleuze right to up Agamben and Žižek – and philosophical movements from German idealism to deconstruction and feminism – Christopher Kul-Want and Piero brilliantly elucidate some of the most thrilling and powerful ideas ever to have been discussed.

edit2: wait, wait, now ones I clicked on before (political philosophy, game theory) are showing up as available with Prime, maybe the links on the site are outdated and you just have to browse them on Amazon

The Chomsky book has some very disappointed reviews because it's about his linguistics. :lol

2.0 out of 5 stars a VERY dissapointing introduction
Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2004

I have always been interested in these "introducing" books. at first, I just thought that they were for old philosophers and psychologists. I had always wondered if there would be one of these books with chomsky... then I found it! i couldn't wait to read it. what a fool I was. for almost the entire book, its about chomsky on linguistics which, by the way, MADE NO SENSE AT ALL!!!!! it was just so confusing, which was the whole point of making an introduction in the first place! then when thats FINALLY over they suposedly "go over his political views" which is HAVE AS LONG AS THE OTHER PART!!! it only 46 PAGES!!! and it still doesn't explain anything! oh well, at least theres "chomsky for beginners" they do the same thing as the "introducing" series but I've looked over this one and it does look A LOT better. the back of the cover explained more than this entire book!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Extreme Communist Bias
Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2018

This book was written by a literal communist who’s bias makes this book more of an opinion piece. The author is Stuart Hood who was a member of multiple Communist parties in the UK, which accounts for his extreme hate for the Right in this book. I would not recommend this book at all if you want a non bias account of fascism.

srs question because i cant remember: how long into the primary did it take til fox warmed up to trump?
Fox never really warmed to Trump outside of his friends like Hannity during the primary or even the election.
They were more nervous than happy when he started to win.

The exit poll looked terrible for Trump and Fox News started preparing viewers that the Republicans might lose Georgia.

Prior to voting day the election wasn't even considered a close race. The odds were 99 to 1 in favor of Clinton.

Pete Buttigieg’s campaign is claiming there are inconsistencies in the reported results in Nevada, as the former South Bend (Ind.) mayor tries to claw his way to second place in Saturday's caucuses.

In a letter sent to Nevada state Democratic Party chair William McCurdy II and obtained by POLITICO, Buttigieg’s campaign is calling for the state party to publicly release a tranche of data and recalculate some precincts.

“In light of material irregularities pertaining to the process of integrating early votes into the in-person precinct caucus results, we request that you” release early and in-person votes, correct “errors identified by presidential campaigns” and “explain anomalies in the data,” Buttigieg’s national ballot access and delegate director Michael Gaffney wrote in the letter sent late Saturday.

Buttigieg's campaign is not challenging Bernie Sanders’ runaway win in the state. Instead, the Buttigieg camp is pointing to the battle further down the standings.

“Given how close the race is between second and third place, we ask that you take these steps before releasing any final data,” Gaffney wrote.

Because we’ve had 5/6 candidates say that even if Bernie has the most delegates going into Milwaukee, the nomination shouldn’t necessarily be given to him if he doesn’t have 1991.

yeah that's what anyone that isn't the frontrunner says, this is not something new. i'm still not convinced that is anything to worry about. if those other 5/6 candidates keep splitting the vote, it lessens their chances of taking any delegates.

at the very least all of them staying in til super tuesday seems to do nothing but help bernie from what i can tell.

Even then it helps to keep more candidates in because it pushes more of them below the 15% threshold and means more delegates for Bernie.

How do I know that important events that advance the plot are happening if characters aren't being eliminated?!? Especially these fringe characters that were only introduced to be taken out at some point like John Hickenlooper and Deval Patrick.
