Yeah, the @POTUS account is almost certainly handled by staffers.

So, out of curiosity, Obama had @POTUS previously, yes? Did he just hand it over so the POTUS can have it as a verified account?

Trump's bringing in the big guns to deal with this Russia scandal!

Quote
Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, is also expected to be part of the effort. Lewandowski, who has been seen in the White House recently, could join the administration as early as next week, a source close to him said.

Or, you know, Lewandowski.

Dunno if this is really the correct thread, but I just read a bunch of the Portland stabbing guy's Facebook posts and what a piece of work he is.  Openly trying to recruit people to join him in killing feds and prison guards.  Praising Bernie Sanders and yet espousing a philosophy that confusingly wobbles around fascism, libertarian and socialist.  Calls Trump better than Hillary because Trump is the "fast poison."  Not all of the posts may be legitimate but I think they probably are.  He was participating in ongoing disucussions on Facebook with people who he also interacted with in real life.  Dude was a walking timebomb.

Yeah, and apparently people had reported him to the police several times, but you can't lock a guy up for crazy facebook posts and ranting at rallies. If he had calls to violence might be a legit case for the police.

The local police could have staged a sweep of his house, found his knife and got him on parole violation, even though that's an abuse of power.

He is:

-Pro White separatism
-Anti-racist
-Pro free speech
-anti religion
-Anti Hillary/Trump
-Socialist who hates socialists and antifa

You're not allowed to give the actual answer ("how much do you think people are willing to pay for gas?"), so of course it gets amazingly cringe-y when someone asks the question in public.

(From data related to BCBS of North Carolina)
https://www.vox.com/2017/5/30/15701986/blue-cross-north-carolina-obamacare-premiums

Basically showing how Trump's nonsense is already harming consumers.

Insurers are supposed to get in next year's initial rate-hike requests by June 21(followed by some final deadlines later on). The Trump team just kicked their lawsuit challenging the subsidies and a final decision on second-half funding back another 90 days. Good chance if they don't make a decision on at least the CSR's well before those deadlines, even more insurers jump out of the exchanges. And those remaining inside will request rate hikes similar to N.C. due to uncertainty and potentially having to use reserves to make up the difference if Trump doesn't fund end of year CSR's.

This really is some evil shit, and the crazy thing is, it seems like Democrats can't even manage to find a unified message to hammer Trump with so he seems rather unscathed by this particular move so far.

Quote
As Ryan earnestly touted his party’s work on “landmark federal IT reform legislation,” there was a grim, haunted look in his bright-blue eyes, and it wasn’t hard to imagine why. What ought to have been the salad days of Republican-led government had instead become a ceaseless, disorienting swirl of scandal, 120 days of self-inflicted chaos and crisis….
...
But Paul Ryan, with his long-cultivated persona as the party’s resident idealist, has always had high expectations. He watched last year as Trump ate his party; now he must watch as the president consumes his dreams. “Paul wants to govern, he’s trying to get what’s possible to get done, and he’s got a lot of credibility on the line,” Ryan’s friend Jimmy Kemp, the son of the late former Representative Jack Kemp, told me. “He’s been working on these issues for so long.” Kemp, who wrote in Ryan’s name on his presidential ballot, described the speaker as burdened but steady. “He’s frustrated and it’s wearing on him, but he’s not throwing in the towel,” he said. “He just has to answer questions about so many things he doesn’t want to answer questions about.”

Activists Hua Haifeng and Li Zhao had been investigating labor practices at Huajian factories in Ganzhou city in southeastern Jiangxi province and Dongguan city in southern Guangzhou province, while a third activist, Su Heng, was working undercover inside the Ganzhou factory, CLW’s Li said.

Hua’s wife, Deng Guilian, said she had not spoken to her husband since Sunday afternoon, when he was on his way from Dongguan to Ganzhou. But she said she had received a phone call from the Public Security Bureau in Ganzhou on Monday saying that he had been detained on suspicion of “illegal monitoring.” Police declined to give further details, she said.

China and labour activists.

This is the important quote (and actually related to Trump)

Quote
William Nee, China researcher at Amnesty International in Hong Kong, said the detentions appear to represent another attack on civil society in the country under President Xi Jinping.

“The Chinese state seems to be aggressively going after any activists who have any ties to overseas organizations under the all-encompassing umbrella of ‘national security,’ ” he said.

“President Donald Trump has bitterly complained of unfair trade practices, but now we have a vivid example of workers rights activists in China being detained merely for trying to ensure that labors laws are actually enforced in practice and don’t just exist on paper. He should use his new friendship with Xi Jinping to press for their release.”

Have you contacted Mueller and McCabe yet?

It would probably help them out a great deal - not to mention save the taxpayer a good bit of money - if you passed along these smoking guns that exonerate the Russian's and the Trump fellowship.

Supposedly Trump is losing sleep and gorging on taco salads late into the night. All of this can't be good for his battery.

Isn't a growing part of Musk's business interests in government contracts for things like SpaceX?

Just from a self-interest standpoint I sort of get why he would stick it out as long as possible. If not for the big things, at least the things that affect his core business interests.

But so many people seemed to think he was doing something clever or would be able to meaningfully change Trump. That was always baffling.

Isn't a growing part of Musk's business interests in government contracts for things like SpaceX?

Just from a self-interest standpoint I sort of get why he would stick it out as long as possible. If not for the big things, at least the things that affect his core business interests.

I mean I get why he wouldn't jump ship, he's taken the US government for like 5 billion dollars so far on some pipedream bullshit and doesn't want to turn the faucet off. There have been about a billion red flags that this was the inevitable conclusion anyway though, and I have zero sympathy for this jerkoff for not reading the tea leaves that he's dealing with a complete distinguished mentally-challenged fellow

I can't say I'm surprised given how shitty an employer Musk has been though. "omg, all these people I dont pay enough are jumping ship to my competitors!!! Ugh these people are evil how dare they betray my vision in exchange for reasonable working hours and way better compensation!!!!"

Right? Was literally thinking that, then remembering that book Nader wrote about the super rich saving us.

Someone should make Kara read that and give it the Blossom treatment.

I mean, I'm not surprised that a CEO would want access to the president of the US.

But so many people seemed to think he was doing something clever or would be able to meaningfully change Trump. That was always baffling.

It's  the same CEO cult of personality worship that helped Trump get elected, but from a different generation.

No one ever, ever heralded Trump the way they do Musk though. People literally think Musk going to save humanity

Lol I went for a syph sub and then Esch came in and kicked down the buildings goddamn
