I'm worried that natural human sympathies will give him a boost. We'll have a couple of weeks of many people wanting to be more gentle and positive about him than normal, and to celebrate him getting sick can obviously cause blowback.

The other day I had the thought that the best thing he can do for the GOP is suddenly die before the election.
