since I don't have kids and there are no sports going on it becomes super apparent that I have very little in common with some of the people I talk to if I am not in a listening mood/want to talk about work. some of these people just can't help veering off into rona, then can you believe these protesters, etc, etc. I actually shut up someone that normally doesn't on these types of things by mentioning how let down I was when Trump built a wall and hid in a bunker like a bitch. they said 'yeah me too' then pivoted completely and tried to dredge up the remains of what passes for sports news at the moment.

I genuinely think this tactic could have teeth/traction and dems should lean in on it.
