This is the third time in a month that Trump's made big logistical demands so he could get some publicity and had it backfire.

He had the park police clear protesters so he could do the church photo op, and all the coverage was about the park police gassing the crowd. He recalled the West Point cadets so he'd be able to make a speech, and all anyone remembers is him drinking water and walking weird. They booked an NBA-sized arena so he could have a rally and set up an elaborate stage outside so he could address the overflow crowd, and instead there are a ton of empty seats.

I tapped out of this quite a while ago but I don't think we should overlook that Mike Pence, the vice president and head of the Coronavirus task force, said the media is just fearmongering and no matter what they say cases and hospitalizations are going down and it's nothing to worry about.

He also did one of those things where he encouraged his supporters to get violent but in a deniable way.

Hard to care after he tried summoning his biker supporters to DC a couple weeks ago and nobody showed up.

This whole "I told them slow down the testing" feels like a classic Trump cycle where he says something horrible and/or idiotic, his media surrogates say he obviously didn't mean that, and then he reiterates yes that's exactly what I meant.

The mirror version is when he says something terrible and they defend it on the merits, and then he says he was just joking.

The rally certainly was bonkers so on that front he delivered.

Still, the Trump campaign is in trouble. They seemed to rely on data more and more much like the Clinton 2016 campaign.
Parscale thought he could just sit back and let Facebook do the work and there's Kushner who everyone in MAGA land hates.

I'm guessing he's going to shake-up the campaign staff and perhaps the White House staff too for the final stretch.
