It's no longer a joke. Last time I checked about ~50 qanon guys were running for seats. I don't think tons of them will win but definitely not encouraging.

It's gonna be wild when there's a Qanon caucus in Congress and they introduce bills based off the conspiracy.

Only they're still Republicans, so it will be like HSA incentives and lower capital gains rates for mole children.

I mentioned it in the Qanon thread but there's at least one candidate who said she endorsed QAnon that should be a shoe-in for Congress.

But like the Tea Party, I think the candidates are more the symptom than the actual issue. Republican national supervisors are still making a show of scolding in public those (limply) but you know it probably infiltrated deep into their ideological soup already.

It's hard to get an idea but I'm sure the most surface level bits (Spygate, Deep State) would poll really well. They probably do, I'll let benji bore us with the details.

I felt like Obama was hamstrung by three things. His place in history (being the first minority president, he "played it safe" more often than not because he didn't want to stain the chances of future minority candidates), the economic downturn he inherited eating up his first 100 days, 2012 political backlash to his party that left him without power in Congress.

I think people accepted this and treated him accordingly.  Plus, he had "the cleanest" two-term presidency of the modern era. Granted it's a pretty low bar to clear, but he definitely cleared it.
