I voted for Trump as soon as I became a citizen. Here's why I'm doing it again.
https://news.yahoo.com/american-gave-first-vote-trump-000200836.html

Quote
I came to the United States in 2009 at the age of 27 from an island where the last free and fair elections happened 72 years ago — Cuba. There, violent communist rule is not some "red scare" tactic or a concern of generations past but the insufferable reality for more than 11 million people, including many family members I was forced to leave behind when I received asylum here.

Quote
Then, as now, I didn't care about so-called political correctness when choosing a candidate; I realize many other Latinos favor more government involvement in our lives and young Latinos trend more liberal, but I'd had quite enough of groupthink in Cuba. I looked for a good manager and administrator to lead a government, and I felt and I now think that President Trump is the right person for the job.

Quote
Beyond that, Trump delivered on the 2016 campaign promises that were important to me then: He lowered taxes; he appointed judges to the federal bench who hew strictly to the Constitution; he has, at every turn, pushed for merit-based immigration; and he has rescinded a whole host of unnecessary regulations. His agenda was, and continues to be, pro-business, pro-family and pro-life.

Quote
So I was glad Joe Biden "beat the socialist" Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who has praised a number of socialists and communist regimes, in the primaries; however, that win does not appear to have stopped the increasing influence of Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and the other self-identified democratic socialists within the Democratic Party.

I can understand this guy's massive fear given his life experience. I'm a citizen of a post-Eastern Bloc country, but Donald J Trump ain't it chief.

Trump using his $7.5 Million bailout check to take down Big Socialism.  :juchesad

That frames the author as just "an immigrant" but he works for the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and was an intern at the Cato Institute.

He's an ideological think tank guy, which explains why his list of Trump accomplishments are such cookie cutter AEI language.

thousands of pages of going over every very real and logical failing of trump, all the while knowing that he can still win the election simply by bullying a senile old man on a TV show.

Democrats: Voting by mail is safe, secure, and easy

Democrats:

Quote
Multiple voters in Brooklyn told Gothamist / WNYC that they have received a mislabeled “official absentee ballot envelope.” Normally, the voter inserts their completed ballot into the envelope and signs the outside. But in these cases, their ballot envelopes bear the wrong name and address. If a person signs their own name to this faulty ballot envelope, the ballot would be voided.

So far, voters in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Carroll Gardens, Crown Heights, Clinton Hill, Bushwick, Flatbush, Brooklyn Heights, Sunset Park, Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Fort Greene have already reported the issue. More than 140,000 absentee ballots have gone out across the borough.

Quote
On Tuesday, the New York City Board of Elections announced a plan to print and mail new absentee ballots to nearly 100,000 voters who received erroneous envelopes in their absentee ballot packages. The decision comes after an unknown number of Brooklyn voters received absentee ballots with the wrong name and address printed on the return envelope.

Quote
Phoenix was awarded a $4.6 million contract to produce and distribute the absentee ballots for the BOE in May, The CITY reports, noting that “the contract was a negotiated acquisition, which means that there was no competitive bidding.”

I thought it was a very healthy and informative debate, I learned a lot about not only both candidates but the process and our love of peaceful democracy here in the Northern Americas. I cannot wait for America to decide 2020 with its votes, it's exciting to know that when the people speak our politicians listen. Also, I hope Kamala wears her Chucks to the upcoming debate so I can wear them too and we'll be friends!

They made a list of more than 30 celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift and Billy Joel to appear in their ad campaign to "inspire hope" about coronavirus, but they ended up with only Dennis Quaid, CeCe Winans and Hasidic singer Shulem Lemmer.

The health department’s $300 million-plus, taxpayer-funded vehicle to boost confidence in President Donald Trump’s response to the pandemic is sputtering. Celebrities are refusing to participate, and staff are arraying against it. Some complain of the unstated aim of helping Trump’s re-election. Others point to an ill-prepared video team and a 22-year-old political appointee who has repeatedly asserted control despite having no public health expertise, according to six people with close knowledge of the campaign and documents related to its operations.

H has said white supremacists are bad but never goes into specifics. Even today he refused to say that systematic racism exists or that the country even has a problem. He never says those things because his base also doesn’t  see themselves as racist. People rarely will say they are something that is bad.

Just like with all the whistleblowing and talk of invaders in the suburbs. He’s not going to say it outright but it’s so obvious what he means.

trump was just a raging bellend as expected, but he likely he got what he wanted by dragging joe down to his level.

probably a draw all told, which is a result for the dems given their lead.

I never said he hasn't, I know he has. I'm saying it's been five years, he should be able to turn it around on both the questioner AND redirect it to ANTIFA BIDEN in his sleep at this point. Instead he still freezes up and refuses to do it consistently.

He has no reason to not condemn white supremacists unless, you know, he thinks many of his fans are white supremacists.

In case you haven't noticed, Trump doesn't like to go on the defensive. Even when Biden said he called the military losers and suckers, Trump didn't defend himself and say he never said that. Instead he went back on the offensive. Constantly defending yourself is a good way to look weak.

The news cycle will once again be all about Trump, just the way he likes it. He will call out the fake news for banging the same drum they always do.

Kind of hard to take his claims of denouncing white supremacy seriously, when he can't even admit that the country has problems with it. Or whisleblows about "invaders" in the suburbs.

Quote from: Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien
President Trump just turned in the greatest debate performance in presidential history, displaying a command of the facts and control of the conversation. Joe Biden was revealed as too weak to be president and spent most of the evening on his heels, unable to explain his 47 years of failure as a Washington politician, and even his friends in the liberal media will be unable to spin this as anything other than a miserable failure. Biden is too weak to stand up to the radical left, too weak to stand up to China, too weak to stand up to anti-police leftists, too weak to lead on the economy, and too weak to defeat Covid. Americans saw a strong president on top of his game against an inadequate challenger, who cannot be allowed to become president.

Looking at the highlights of this glorious train wreck, my first takes.

- Biden could not clown Trump the way he destroyed Paul Ryan back in the day

- Trump realized Joe was not sleepy or demented and as easy to shutdown as he thought

- Trump is visibly pissed that Biden could end his whole political career, something he probably didn't yet realize until this debate

- Trump seemed to think that Chris was going to bat for him, trying to persuade him to his side and addressing him directly

- Biden and Trump are both poor at relaying campaign and party messages and both mostly hold their own positions,
Trump on proud boys and the virus, Biden on the supreme court and policing

Neither of them won decisively in the way they thought they could.
I think another debate would actually be helpful.

Now that they got this frustration out of their system and they sized each other up realizing they can both win they can rework their strategies accordingly.

Also Sleepy Joe is not as effective as 'Crooked Hillary'. Crooked could be associated with a number of things and is not only a powerful visual metaphor but also
as a way to highlight her weaknesses in dealing with foreign governments, wall street and other special interests. Crooked Hillary is a villain that Trump could defeat.

Sleepy Joe doesn't work as well because Sleepy doesn't hold the same weight to it as crooked. The same way as Dangerous Donald didn't work, becuase that actually sounds kind of cool.
The sleepy nickname also isn't tied to Joe's history and conduct as a career politician. So it mostly falls flat as an attack beyond memes. In fact it hurts Trump if he loses an argument
with Sleepy Joe. If even someone as sleepy as Joe can fight him in the ring, he comes across as rather weak and uncertain.
Trump should've gone with something like Sleazy Joe. Sleazy meaning that he would make deals with anyone, like the Chinese or Ukrainians to make sure he gets his piece of the pie and/or
cheat at the debates. That would make people question what Biden is doing when he's not out there campaigning and hiding in his basement. They can imagine him making all sorts of deals
and messing around with ballots or whatever. When it's sleepy, well, Joe is just sleeping in his basement. That's not a danger to anyone.
