In 2016 the Trump campaign had themes. Like the Wall and ZCHINA. Because Roger Stone was afraid Trump would 'forget' to talk about the important topics and you know policies.

Now the movement is just... put your profession or identity on a poster, add "FOR TRUMP" collect a bunch of vehicles and start blasting the YMCA.
I don't think this nationwide clown circus has been included or accounted for in the polls. As it transcends parties, states and races and some would argue reality.
I think reports that the clowns if they are asked about their voting preference are lying to pollsters is true and the movement and tightening we're seeing in the polls now is Republicans 'coming home' because of the SCOTUS and fossil fuels and no one is prepared for the 'for Trump' clown circus that descends on the polls November 3rd. How that translates to electoral victories is anyone's guess but it'll be a spectacle.

I'm getting nervous about the election for the first time. The election is close enough that it feels like a real, inescapable event that can only go one of two ways. The memory of 2016 is fresh enough that it's much easier to imagine a bad outcome than to believe 538.

There's also some vague spooky things that are gnawing at my brain. What if online Trump supporters are telling the truth when they say that they're lying to pollsters? I don't know why anyone would do that since it would be better to just have the improved pollnumbers, but I can at least imagine Trump supporters having a worse response rate and being dicks to people conducting polls.

The runner up to Trump in 2016 was Ted Cruz. So, the odds are pretty high you'll get a fundamentalist of some sort.

The other thing is that these rallies always are near capacity on both sides. They set them up that way on purpose.

I went to a Bernie rally for Hillary in October 2016 that had people outside that never were able to get in. It was in Iowa. Hillary did not, dare I say, win Iowa that year.
