Since last time I posted I finished Gravity Rush 2.
I "liked" it. I mean yes it is more Gravity Rush and with that comes the fact that the combat is still pretty bad. The way throwing stuff works has been made easier and as an effect of that combat is kind of piss dumb. You can easily just pick up things, even the human enemies, and just throw them around without even trying to awkwardly trying to do the gravity kick. So I guess thats good....
But in the end I didn't really have a lot of complaints. People complained about stealth missions. I only did the main stuff, but I don't remember any. Thats how un-impacting they were. I skipped the side missions and had no trouble getting the power ups, but since you don't level up health and the gravity gauge anymore, it's not like powering up stuff is mandatory.
Still the art and music is amazing. Flying around the first area is simply amazing and returning to Hecksville was nice(though not as great as the new city/town).
It's just a super charming game and honestly the fight with Angel was epic. You start in the sky and then basically can switch between the sky and land freely.
Also for some reason I replayed Halo 4 and 5 and honestly they really ilustrate why Halo is bascily and irrelevant series now.
I feel in MP the problem is 5's focus on E-Sports. Halo is not an e-sport. Battlefield is also not an e-sport and is extrmley popular, probably because it's just embraced what people like about it. I think people liked Halo for obviously the good gameplay, but also a lot of it's goofyness. The weapon countering, the memorable levels that were not about being perfectly balanced, and other stuff. I loved playing CTF in BTB in Halo 2 would continue playing Halo, but all this equipment, load outs, and rec pack shit just gets in the way. Also god is it on ugly game on those forge maps.
But the single player for 5 is super lame. 343 really doubled down on Halo lore which is dumb I'm sorry. Halo lore is for people my age who were too young for Star Trek and Star Wars when they debued and needed a fandom/lore to be thier own. But it's super dumb, focused on constantly talking about random Nouns that you could care less about. The composer, the mantle, the librarian, the whatever. It's a sci-fi universe that throws every sci-fi cliche into it. Ancient aliens, no anchient humans, dead progenitor races, ect ect. Except with little style and it becomes another lame Humans are special crap. The thing is Halo 4 and 5 take this super seriously with no levity. At least Bungie had some humor and in the end it really was about a dude fighting off an alien invasion, not being space jesus.
While I know people like Master Chief for some reason, the story hasn't been expanded well. It hasn't been able to move past him and Cortanna. So focusing on them again feels like it makes the universe and story smaller in 5.
I don't know there just doesn't feel like any excitement in these games.
