Playstation has plenty of exclusives.

A lot of Sony's "exclusives" are second or first-party. Just like Nintendo's. Anyone third party (read: EA, Indies and the like) will not exclusive their stuff anymore. That's suicide. Look at Titanfall.

Well, that was a wet-fart of a conference. Crackdown might be nice, but it being Windows store exclusive is "yeah, no." Phantom Dust I played/"bought" because it was free (and I'm a hardcore fan) anything that is "store exclusive" is getting passed hard until Piracy for UWP happens or it goes on Steam. Whichever goes first.

Life is Strange I'll get cheap. That pixel Cyberpunk game might be interesting. Assassin's Creed is Assassin's Creed, but nothing overly huge/surprising in this conference.

This is why MS needs a solid first-party roster, which they just don't have.

They had it, but they killed it off after the original X-box. They had a bunch of quirky games like Phantom Dust. Those just never sold past niches/cult status. So they killed their PC branch (FASA/RTS houses) in addition.

Last gen they didn't need them too much, being easier to develop for. But it's clear now that they need first parties like Naughty Dog to actually push their hardware.
