Yeah they're all pretty miserable and it gets worse as the show goes on. Particularly after/at season 3.

I too love the show, I just never really noticed how morally bankrupt everyone is.

It's a show about the end of their civilization in search for a new home. They lack food and have to ration stuff while being put on ships like canned sardines. They've lost everyone they've loved. They're chased by murderous robots. People are complicated. I wouldn't say they're bankrupt besides Gaius. The show wouldn't be realistic nor interesting Sci fi if everyone was a goodie goodie.

Gaius is on the lower scale of morally bankrupt when you have people in there trying to commit genocide.

You know who stayed pretty solid throughout or at least as far as i can remember? Helo. Always felt like Helo was getting dragged into shit only because the people he cared about were messes.

Helo is 100% on point morally throughout which is why i called special attention to him yes, Lee has one or two wobblies but is in general also a fairly great guy.

Aw, I liked it. But I've only watched the remake, is that the one you mean? Haven't seen it since it came out though so I might feel different about it now that I'm a lot older.

the bsg scene/ep or w/e i probably think about is the ep where dee kills herself. The first half? of that last season is so bleak and brutal man. Just people in the pit of despair. That scene and the ep where the young kid from the bridge starts the coup.

This happened with LOST and its characters. At first I was really into Sawyer (ugh, I was 14 or so) and also thought Jack was cool, second rewatch Locke was my fav, realized what a shitty char Sawyer is. But third rewatch a few years ago it was all about Sayid and his fine ass. :drool I also realized how annoying many of the characters were. WAAAAAALT. Where's my boy, they took my son! Waaaaaaalt.

Locke was such an amazing character. Jack, Sayid (yummy), and let's not forget Ben: Evil version. A lot of the characters had their own charm though. Desmond was pretty cool too.

Oh man, this was one of the most shocking early on scenes in the TV show. Definitely my favorite episode.

Locke ended up getting totally screwed and that's part of what I hate about the last season or so.

Funny this turned into a Lost thread. Because just like BSG, the first 2/3rd were fine, and then it all went to shit.

I loved seasons 1&2, but as soon as they ended up sharing gulags space with Cylons, I tuned out. I paid money for those, in a time when it was REALLY hard to get iTunes credit into my account. Now that it's streaming on Amazon Japan, I may go back to it.

Her popping up in Star Trek recently has got me wondering why Tory Foster was the only one punished and held accountable for her past actions when all of those motherfuckers did so much worse  :thinking

Same. Jack was a little shit in comparison. That's one of the reasons I liked s5 so much - it proved Locke right *and* Jack became a fucking janitor, lol.

All this talk about BSG and not one post about Daggit? What's wrong with you folks? This is the shit that really matters about BSG.

Well to be fair, the tagline was "AND THEY HAVE A PLAN". Never said it was a good one.

I think one of the most hilarious parts is how Cavill just shoots himself out of absolutely fucking nowhere :lol

Wasn't it that they couldn't have babies because the cylons couldn't feel love
How was this show so bulletproof with critics

Well that's the explanation they came up with yes. But since they're machines, they needed humans to teach them love :uguu
