Full of shit, in what sense? I was there during the purge by Bish. The people banned were those whose agendas, regarding issues pertaining to racism against blacks, were quite obvious. Was his action extreme? Of course. But extremism almost always demands extreme responses.
Full of shit because you're exactly the stereotype of the gaf member that made the board insufferable for the rest of the internet world (and no, the rest of the internet world isn't full of alt-right).
Go to the most popular sites, social media and standard websites, outside of GAF and you will see an uninterrupted display of alt-right, neo-nazi, confederate loving trash. From Youtube to Twitter, Facebook to Reddit, there is no refuge from the brazen and unmitigated expression of white supremacist drivel.
Again, banning people for being racist, sexist or anything disgusting is ok in my book, but banning people because leftists extremist and insecure Social Studies Warrior people think they're racist, a sexist or whatever is a problem. You can't trust those people to be level-headed.
Bish was one of the most levelheaded, balanced, and fair mods on the forum. But he had a keen ability to sniff out the alt-right trash that flocked to GAF, who almost always masked their intent in disingenuous attempts at "discussion" that teased certain implications before making it all too obvious what they represented. The type who are "just asking questions, guys."
I've never been a gaf member, but you're clearly playing blind. I've seen people banned for the most stupid reasons and it wasn't about racism, sexism or anything, just having "wrong opinions" on casual matters. I remember a guy being banned because he voiced the fact that the "Switch saved my life" thread was a little too much, without insult or anything => Permabanned. I remember another guy being perma because he thought that an actress was "not good looking" while others Social Studies Warrior were saying that she was beautiful, he was demonized as a sexist Oo. All the while obvious shill like Inuyasha or his friend with the dog avatar were allowed to hunt and harass individuals (full srs, even outside of gaf, going as far as mailing their employers), for being too critical toward Nomura.
Maybe some of your examples above were overblown offenses. Perhaps, but the vast majority of Bish's bans were deserved expulsions of racists.
