I agree that most users are probably not too familiar with the drama but I've read quite a few remarks clearly voicing the desire that ERA moderation should be a clean break (implying not everyone was satisfied of the old ways). I mean, the very essence of the foundation of ERA was a rebellon against administration, I would like to think this means the userbase will be more mindful and vigilant at management than they were in the past.

Insofar as I can tell, any chatter you hear about neogaf mods jumping aboard as Reset mods/admins is either intentional misinformation (ie that era_besada account) or just a misunderstanding that some of the old GAF mods were in the Discord chats talking to era staff in a pseudo-advisory capacity. I don’t know what the future holds, but for the most part I think most GAF mods are content to not serve that role anymore and I imagine most of the Reset staff are probably content to prove themselves while also not be eager to irritate the user base that is applauding a clean break from the old guard.

These features arent XenForce exclusive. CAG has pretty much the same setup and they're using IP.Board

Oh Tyler is to blame for the downfall of NeoGAF. Tyler is the only one to blame for the downfall of NeoGAF. Insinuating that it wasn't Tyler that single handedly tanked the site is missing the point. NeoGAF chugged along just fine when he wasn't around, but his interference, coverups, sex scandals and deceits, orchestrating and cultivating the hive mentality, handpicking mods that he saw perpetuate his vision was all on him. If someone decent was running GAF instead of EviLore, we would have a normally functioning NeoGAF.

The community in and of itself was fine. We can see as much now on Era. As long as they all can hug each other in unity that won't change.
