Everything I've read/heard about it makes it sound more appealing than pretty much every recent Marvel/Disney/Star Wars movie...but I don't have kids so I have an irrationally hard time getting myself to actually watching childrens' movies that I don't have nostalgia for.

(I just saw the first Harry Potter the other day for the first time and thought it held up pretty well due to the world building and John Williams.)

Wait, hadn't considered going at it from the Fantastic Mr Fox angle, maybe that'll work...

Instead of Marvel Movies or Harry Potter movies, I think the better comparison is the babe movies. Even though the plots are completely different it has the charm of those kind of movies which is kind of lost nowadays.

i always wondered why Pig in the City alone seemed to have killed off that type of film considering how the first one was such a critical and commercial success
