As BuzzFeed reported, they stood outside the Tornillo detention center in Texas, where children are housed in tents. The protest was organized by Voto Latino.

This was not a joke, this is the only way that many many out of touch rich people in LA ever come into contact with immigrants. Further proof that celebrities are not the best people to spearhead social change.

I'm a Peruvian immigrant and live in Los Angeles and the reality of LA is the majority of jobs described are filled by brown folk like me and that is across the class board. Also none of the jobs described are anything to denigrate or be ashamed of. I worked landscaping for two years to help put myself through college. I worked for 7 years as a Director of Architectural firm in West Hollywood so all I did was interact with these people like this on the day to day. Great people, hardworking, many undocumented who are providing for their families. Because of their status these are the jobs they can get. You really shouldn't talk about thibgs wihtout familiarity.

Rogue One's got a really messy first act, a decent enough but mostly unremarkable second act, and a pretty good final act. Better than any of the PT, but wouldn't put it above any of the other Star Wars movies.

I disagree, mod. Ep1 and Ep3 are better simply by virtue of being competently made movies. That first act of Rogue One is a disaster, and there’s no way Disney didn’t know it when they shoved it out the door. It is poorly made. It is nearly narratively incoherent. If the whole movie was as bad as the first act, it would be way way way below Ep2 in quality.

The second act is also bad, but mainly because it’s boring and feels pointless because there was no build-up because the first act made as much sense as trying to read a word search puzzle as a paragraph.

The third act, though, is really good. Good enough to fool rubes into thinking they didn’t just witness a near-complete disaster.

Rogue One is terrible. The first act is (significantly) worse than anything in Ep2. I laugh when I see morons say it’s the best of the Disney films (which seems to happen pretty frequently). You can tell where there’s still lead paint by pinpointing their location on a map.

I rate Revenge of the Sith the lowest because thats where Star Wars really died for me. Saw it for my 15th birthday and it was really one of those "end of childhood moments". Watching something you loved as a child and realizing it's pretty shitty. The begining you have the most shitty attempts at humor with the droids. Awful tone shifts with the complete seriousness and death with the Jedi stuff combined again with droid humor.  Characters like Anakin acting like the biggest idiots and being manipulated in an idiot plot that was so dumb I could'nt suspend my disbelief, which is something I can do very well. I am not a nitpicker. If a movie works on some levels and is entertaining enough I'll excuse a lot. But Episode 3 is just so shitty. The dialogue, the staging, and the action. Just so wooden and unexciting. I've never been so bored of a lightsaber fight as I have been with Episode 3.

All the prequels are bad but, 3 is the one that sticks out mostly because people seem to excuse it as being the "dark" and "serious one".

Rogue One's plotting and storytelling is pretty awful. It's such a disjointed and stitched together movie that it's a shame. It looks great though and it certainly had an interesting premise and set-up. I'll be an edgelord and say the tone is fine with me. It's not that serious and Star Wars could use some space western/dirty dozen type stories.

Solo was ok, which is really all I can say. Nothing awful about it, but nothing super amazing either.

TFA is fine. It's a fun movie. I don't care that yes it's a ANH again. I don't like the worldbuilding and stupid world status quo though.

Which also means TLJ is worse in that regard as the lame status quo is made even worse. Still I like the overall theme and Rey/Kylo stuff. The Rose and Fin and Rebel Fleet stuff is awful though. Wish Rose and Finn had a better subplot. I'd rate it higher and find it an interesting movie, but I really dislike the Rebel Fleet stuff.

So my ranking is:

Empire>New Hope=Returns>The Disney Stuff(It's all equally fine to me)>The Prequels.

Have you seen Attack of the Clones or Rogue One? TFA was a good set up for the sequel trilogy but Rian Johnson fucked that up. Dude made it impossible for JJ to make a compelling end to that story.
