I’m also really put off by how fast Arenanet moved to terminate two employees for such a minor scuffle.

Why do people keep assuming this was the case? That they decided it in a few hours.

Especially when they at the same time hype up her many decades of GamerGate harassment that put her on edge as part of a deliberate GamerGate plot to make her snap at a predetermined moment of condensation. (Thus why GamerGate had to boost climate change to increase the amount of condensation that Deroir could apply.)

I know all about this because my father is seriously mentally ill and has been for the past year. He went from being a normal person with no history of mental illness to being completely dysfunctional and alienated. He thinks the government stalks him, rapes him in his sleep, and injects foreign substances into his throat, which he forces himself to evacuate every time he wakes up. It used to be so bad that he begged me to watch him while he slept, which I obliged out of kindness but of course didn't work, because indulging people's mental illnesses doesn't help them at all, and actually makes them worse. The point of me sharing that personal and rather tragic story is that these people suffer from exactly the same illness, and yes, it does make them critically dysfunctional in certain cases, like excelsiorlef who I am almost certain can't hold down a job anywhere. They are so hard to treat. Failure is likely. If you encounter a person like that on the internet or elsewhere, you should stay as far away as possible and avoid all interaction, unless they are your family, in which case you should seek immediate and serious medical intervention.

Whether or not the dude was condescending or not, or mainsplaining or not. Really it doesn't matter. That part of this is really irrelevant. It's a fact that women receive this kind of crap from all sides - every day. They constantly have to attempt to justify their abilities and expertise. The fact that she got irritated is a normal human reaction that happens.

The problem here, the MAIN PROBLEM HERE, is that when the mob of GG assholes who have been waiting for anything they could grab on to saw her reaction and leveraged it to get her fired. They geared up and created a shitstorm so that the company in question would be pressured into firing her over it.

GAMERGATE DIDN'T GO AWAY. THEY ARE STILL AROUND AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET ANYONE THEY PERCEIVE AS 'SJW' OUT OF THEIR BELOVED INDUSTRIES. They are actively doing this in video games, movies, and comics. If a women steps out of line they JUMP AT THE CHANCE to do whatever they can to get them fired.
