That mod edit pointing to the FAQ literally only exists to protect industry people who post here, or potentially would. The site's staff should be more supportive of it's community and the issues we have towards these topics. Instead of constantly going after us for feeling how we feel.

I think people really underestimate the shitty aspects of being ganged up on through Twitter or negative press. He should very much have the negative news coverage, but the 20k-30k tweets directed at him that he's a hack and he sucks and whatever else is so much additional pressure that isn't needed to make somebody feel the repercussions of their actions. Filip will likely be reprimanded and even fired and fined. But WE don't need to play judge, jury, and public shamers with every little thing everybody does wrong. We can do a lot better to just let things go.

How are game reviewers even considered journalists? Afaik they are fanboys that got lucky to be able to gush over their favorite toys for money, not people that went through the education needed to be in real journalism. Just last year some outlet released a sincere 11/10 review for Mario or something    Imagine a movie reviewer did that. And what are they doing beyond that anyway, except to run interviews that simply repeat a company's PR sheet? Attempts to go beyond that end at embarrassments like Waypoint. No wonder random Youtubers are eating their revenue, they are offering the same thing. How deep must your gamesdoor paranoia go to act like this profession should a be strictly protected class in discourse
