Yep.  As a kid, I would get cracked out getting hyped for a game from the few screenshots that were available in magazines.  I remember pouring over the same preview and review pages.  The novelty of a few scarce media shots of games in bookstores was huge.   Nowadays all a kid has to do is type a game in Youtube and he can see any number of hundreds of dipshits playing through the entire thing.  It's no accident that reviewers had to find another tack to get eyes on their work again.

Bad question - nobody involved in the situation was carrying out a revolutionary uprising or something, in which case whether the person being attacked is old doesn't really mean anything. My point with that post in the thread on Era was that vigilante action is incompatible with liberalism and that therefore not everyone who was saying "The old lady shouldn't have been beaten" was saying it due to racism but because they believe the state should have a monopoly on violence. That's a core tenant of liberal "civil society". I think that's a not a bad idea but that, truthfully, it only really fully matters if the state is fully democratic, ie in a state of socialism. There may be a violent period that acts as a rupture between a liberal and socialist period, and once that occurs, frankly I take Marx's approach of not being too interested about the morality of it. To be fair, we are not in that period.

If the state isn't doing much of anything to raise up an oppressed people and in fact actively kills them and encourages further racism against them, I don't really care too much if someone pushed a member of that group over the edge and caught a beating.

Way too many of these "male allies" are hiding behind woke progressive ideology to hide their creepy behavior or to atone for some skeletons in their closet. This is especially true for those ultra aggressive types that want to fight anyone and everyone (limited to social media of course) for the slightest perceived misstep or transgression. But as far as judge Ellis, he appears to have interjected in the prosecutions arguments in a number of  instances in a way that will likely influence the decision of the jury. From my limited understanding of courtroom procedings, it's not unusual for this particular judge, but not it is highly unusual in federal cases for a judge to overextend his authority like that. I understand the frustration from Justice Department's POV because there aren't really many checks on judges in US judicial system and proecution cannot appeal the jury's decision. Once it's over, it's over. However, the denizens of Reeee are highly tribal and just want to see Manafort behind bars and whip themselves into a frenzy over this trial.
