Whether they did a chemical analysis on the bleach remains to be seen, but if Chicago PD have already gone to the lenghts of analyising the rope and going to every store that may have sold it, it certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility they will go to similar lengths in determing who made the bleach.

I don't know how sophisticated the forensic tools are, but there could be a lot of things beyond the scope of what a layman like me or forum-surfers know.  Yeah, the brand thing..or how about the fact that bleach has an expiration date - the Sodium Hypochlorite levels can give you an idea of how old the bleach is.  Maybe they can match the ages?  I don't know.  That's the thing - I obviously am not a crime scene forensics investigator..but there are like 20 posts on REE saying "AHEM - Bleach?  What are these dumbasses thinking?  Even I have bleach!"   Fucking goofs, just because they took it doesn't mean they're like "Ah hah! We got him boys!"

Either way why WOULDNT they collect bleach during a search where they have a warrant in this type of crime?  It might not get them anywhere but they are certainly going to collect it.
