They do have fast travel, but it's not useful until you're probably 95% through the game so it's really just for the post game playing because fuck God of War.

Reminds me of how in Twilight Princess you would get the item to call the horse from anywhere near the end of the game after you already acquired fast travel.

Late game fast travel items only work if the game has a ton of sidequests and collecting.

But even then you might as well make fast travel default like Witcher 3.
