raidahs haven't been a super bowl contender since the last time gruden was coach, not sure where you got that from.

cooper led the league in drops and disappears for 2-3 games between his good games, also wants julio jones money.

mack wanted $90mil guaranteed. defense was trash even with him on the team and gruden is offensive minded. no way he was paying out quarterback money to a defensive player and still be left with one of the worst defenses in the league.

So the only answer was a shitty rebuild that Gruden has no idea how to do?

That 2016 Raiders team had a good version of Carr, Mack, and Cooper. They were 12-4 and part of the reason they lost in the first round was because Carr got injured late in the season. Remember, this was still the Alex Smith Chiefs they were facing, and they had a good chance of running the division for the next couple of years looking forward from 2016. Yeah, you're right that its hard to run out of the AFC as long as New England was there, but man, you're saying that after 2016, you would only see a rebuilding effort?

the team is better this year with or without ab. he would have made a big difference on offense, but top to bottom the roster is better than last year. you could make the argument that they should have kept mack, but they did get good compensation for letting him go

I was hungover and watched entirely too much TV yesterday. Browns were underwhelming but shame on me for expecting much. Pats, Ravens, and Cowboys impressed against questionable competition. Bad break for the jags. NFC South looking winnable.

Agree lot of bad games, I ended up just flipping back and forth between US open commercials. From late in the 3rd set on that was a classic.

Yesterday I watched: Browns/Titans, Lions/Cardinals, Steelers/Pats.
It wasn't all that entertaining aside from the 4th quarter and OT of the Lions debacle.
I agree with Filler though. the first week is still pretty sloppy.
