So I did one of the little bit more extreme haunts tonight with my horror meetup group. Had a waiver and stuff, whatever. Had the usual touching, molesting, etc... no big deal. But there were a couple bits that were kinda yeaaah
You're supposed to be death row prisoners so they take you to a firing squad and put a bag over your head and then start firing. You'd think they'd just have sound effects of gunshots, but nah, this was their key scare since there were huge warnings on the wall of the entrance and waiver that YOU ARE LIKELY TO GET BRUISES OR WELTS. So yeah, they shot you with rubber bullets all over for a minute. Also the people shooting you weren’t professionally trained actors knowing to avoid hitting you in the eye or balls or whatever, later on in the maze YOU get to shoot at people so it's just people in the maze as your firing squad. I couldn't bring myself to shoot anyone because I'm not a fucking jerk like the motherfuckers that kept shooting me in the fucking face fuckerrrrrssss. I have bruises/welts all along my body, but for whatever reason in how the body medically works all the bullets to my cheek and one to my goddamn eye (which luckily didn't hit hard enough to damage my eye anything) didn't leave any welts on my face thankfully. Otherwise work would've been weird tomorrow.
Ok, another kinda yeaaah bit was a tunnel you crawl through a pressurized rubber bag inflates and crushes you in the vent tunnel so you have to use all your strength to stay still and push back to not get crushed. Then it deflates and you move a few feet and it inflates and repeat. Ok, fine. But then you turn the last corner and the ground is running with SERIOUS FUCKING ELECTRIC VOLTAGE and you start crawling and that shit shocks you HARD and so you crawl fast as you fucking can but each time you move you keep getting really electrocuted. My arms were going numb and I was yelling FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKKKKK as I came outta that shit.
There was also a cool bit that wasn't fucked up like that where you go in a personal gas chamber tube the size of a locker and a mechanical arm picks your locker up and turns it horizontal with you facing up and then it fills with gas and the back opens and drop down a few feet into a rubber ball pit. That was kinda fun.
Also was a super gross room that smelled like total shit and a guy with a shit rag who wipes it on your face (it's just water) and then turns a lever and bugs rain down from the sky on you (but they didn't use real bugs this year, apparently in past years there's been real cockroaches and stuff). Also a dude at the end with a very weak tazer that grabs you and tingles the shit out of you Joker style. Some other stuff like fake elevators and corridors where the floor drops a bit and stuff, but nothing was bad outside the getting shot, getting electrocuted and the poo room. I'm good on that stuff, but no one used the safe word, including me and we made it through so good on us yay.
