Boreans,
Late yesterday evening, Cream agreed to my terms and offered what appears to be a sincere apology. I have spent the last 12 hours carefully considering their words and pondering what is best not just for myself, but for The Bore community at large. In the interest of coming together as a family, starting the healing process, and moving forward, I have accepted the apology and will not begin the #bancream campaign. I ask Bork to delay any perm bans, at least for now.
Cream,
To you, I offer advice. What makes The Bore unique is that we operate on a different currency from NeoGaf and Resetera. In those shitholes, quantity was and is valued above quality. "Famous posters" do not become elevated due to their insight or intellect, but simply because they have the most time to spam endless shit. Nobody actually likes posters like excelsheet, but they are tolerated because they generate content, which in turn pulls advertising revenue.
Here on The Bore, quality is king. And fortunately, a system has been put in place to highlight and reward this quality. This system is called "likes". You might have noticed that many, if not most of my posts receive likes. Some have been known to get as many as seven likes. In fact, my posts get so many likes that Bork doesn't even blink when nuking a post with five likes. Why? Because he knows there are many more where that came from. This makes me a valuable member of the community.
Your posts, however, are mostly devoid of likes. Of your 300+ posts, I would wager that less than 30 have any likes at all, never mind multiple likes. That is a problem, especially because some posters here are very loose with likes. One poster in particular has been known to like every post on a page. Except yours. That should be a wake-up call.
Cream, I ask of you to take a step back and adjust your posting priorities. Focus on quality, not quantity. You will find that eventually, the likes will come. And with those likes comes acceptance, then popularity, and eventually, power. Of course, you can ignore this advice, at your own peril.
