ok, I checked out MeatCouncil's rules

No Admins, No Mods! Every single full member of the forum is equal and everyone is responsible for making it a good place for people to have chats on various gaming (and non-gaming) topics.

Content removal is handled automatically through the use of the forum's Report function. If a post receives more than 8 reports - it will be automatically removed. To protect this functionality from abuse - each report will be visible to all full members (including the user whose content got reported) on the profile page of the user whose content received the report. Each report will be fully detailed and include the date, username of the person who issued the report and the comments left when the report was issued. Only report content that is illegal, offensive or in any way violates any of the terms and rules stated in this list. Do not report content that you simply disagree with, because while there is technically no way to stop you from doing it - your behaviour will eventually get noticed, which leads us to the second part of the way to keep the forum a friendly place for everyone:

User bans will function as follows: each full member has access to the forum's Warning functionality. Each issued warning applies one warning point which expires after 25 days. If at any time a user has more than 3 active warning points - they will automatically receive a 24h ban. If they manage to gather a further 3 warnings (for a total of 6) - the next ban will be a 48h one, then one week (at 9 points), then one month (at 12 points) and then the final one will be a permanent ban (at 15 active warning points). Bans are applied after crossing a warning point threshold, so if a user gets below 3 active points and then crosses the threshold again - it will automatically apply a 24h ban. Additionally - each time a user gets banned, there will be a thread created automatically in the Ban Notifications forum. Same as with reports - to protect this functionality from abuse - each warning will be visible to all full members on the profile page of the user who received the warning (including the user themselves). Each warning will be fully detailed and include the date, username of the person who issued the warning and any comments left when the warning was issued. Only warn users for content or behaviour that is illegal, offensive or in any way violates any of the terms and rules stated in this list. Do not warn users who you simply disagree with, because while there is technically no way to stop you from doing it - your behaviour will eventually get noticed and dealt with accordingly.

Wait, is Metacouncil NOT Cream's forum?

It's a largely apolitical PC-era spin-off.  It's definitely not more left than Era from what I've seen even if the userbase is about as progressive as the average Era poster.  Like, there isn't even a banned game list.

You really think a place that thinks Era isn't harsh enough on bigotry would trust the community to self-moderate?

Your account there at MetaCouncil can still be useful: report RedMercury over and over. Or troll him like the little bitch he is. See how he does without the skirts of REEEE's mods to hide in.

You guys wanna stink up the place, but what you don't know is that you start as a junior, and you have to wait 3 months and post 300 times to become a full member that can actually report other users.
And it's not like they can't just put some human hands to work and actually moderate, if things get bad enough. Not that they will, because it's not trying to replace resetera.

On paper it sounds like an awful idea, just because of the report thing.
They should just worry about obvious troll accounts spamming porn and shit, or people being extremely virulent, and you don't need a complicated system for that, just a janitor type role that doesn't ALSO double as user.

That said, annoying people like Red Mercury without the constant boot of the mods to protect them, wouldn't be as annoying, as long as you can call them out, so in that sense it'd work better than Era.

How's a man gonna pay his rent this month if he's in negative respect? Jesus it's brutal, he's gonna be homeless.

Also Meta forum, I would create an account, but the main dickheads are already there and sucking dick so they get the likes and power.

I like the attempt to make it a fair place though, but I think it'll devolve into a reporting simulator between factions.

And these are the people that know how everything in the world should operate.  JFC.  Fuck that forum.  I would have called them the r-word, but the developmentally challenged people I've come across in my adult life can work, support themselves, have relationships, and generally be a positive member of society.  Hell, I'd wager they can even wipe their asses as well without having to go to a forum to ask how to do it.

Damn, I thought it was going to be nothing exciting in it. But, if Barr is tipping of Trump and doing a narrative-shaping press conference before it comes out, there must be some great impeachment porn coming.

Here's the thing: Barr is a fossil. He thinks he can control the narrative with stunts like this but I don't think it'll work like it's 1990.

Did [Barr] mic just die?
I was hoping he had a heart attack. I’m sitting at our kitchen island reading that Prima Super Nintendo book and my Father in Law is on the back porch listening to this bullshit on blast and nodding like it’s preach.

The military thing is weird. It's nice to see we can have a gay candidate be taken seriously, and he seems to have a talent for packaging left leaning ideas in a way that a more conservative electorate might find more palatable, but... Military service, really? That is an absurd idea.

:lol These people are so dumb.
