Agreed. 2 crying babies in my Endgame showing at Alamo... Not sure why they were let in, but the moment their kids started bawling they got kicked out.

Fuck you, go watch it in 5 or 6 weeks on a Sunday morning if you're not gonna pay for a sitter. Everyone else didn't decide to have a kid, so why are we paying for your decision? Don't be an inconsiderate asswipe and ruin 100s of other people's experience simply because you are too cheap or impatient to hire a sitter see the film at a later date/a child friendly showing.

On a forum where manchild is a popular insult for everyone who doesn't like the newest Star Wars movie,
there are populär threads lamenting the presence of children at Disney movies and in Disney theme parks. :teehee

Having watched End Game the only way you should via Red Letter Media review,

I can now go on living knowing I saved an awful lot of time over last 10 years not watching these films.

I mean apart from the star wars prequels you never really saw the nerdy and unclean in cinemas for kids media before.

Now you look and it's a weird fucking place to go see a film, as you just see disgusting creatures occupying over one seat sitting there with the largest soda and popcorn possible.

The sooner they fuck off all cinemas the better.

Being fair, the books got darker as the audience grew old. The first book tone is totally different from the last book.

Cool. Here's a rule of thumb. Does the franchise sell products aimed at children? If it does, its a franchise meant for children.

Watch it as an adult. That's cool. But don't try to pass it off as Bergman.

It was just a children's book series that sort of evolved into a teen book series. It didn't become a franchise to sell Halloween shit until later.

And can I remind you for how much LotR whores itself out with all those t-shirts and rings and toys and shit?

Operative words there.

Again, its cool to like that shit, but Star Wars, Marvel movies and Even Harry Potter are on the level of Professional Wrestling. Hell, I love the Fast and Furious movies but I know they're dumb and corny as shit. I won't make up excuses for them to quiet my insecurities.

I watched it as a kid, as did all my friends back in the day (and i did have the action figure).

Some of the corporate satire flew over my head, but the violence was just an absolute joy to witness.

I mean I make fun of comic-book fans but the movies aren't "kids movies";  MCU starts off with a movie about an irresponsible weapons dealer coming to grips with what he's done to the world.  The rest of the films aren't lacking in somewhat interesting / adult themes as well.

They are still based on something made for kids/teens and we can all point and laugh at adults dedicating their lives to being fans of these films and praying for billions to be made off of them but they aren't "kids movies."

The comics aren't made for kids either.  They've been targeting older readers since the 60s and have done spin-off kids' comics/cartoons/brands since that time.

Still fun to laugh at man-children as always.

Nah bro. John Wick was one of friend's favourite movies. He always told me it was good and I always told him that it was some goofy, shoot-em up kungfu movie, and that i'd seen the first 10 mins and had to shut that shit off it was so bad. Then my friend died from a random heart attack. I just wish he was alive so I could convince him how dumb that shit is so he gets to go over to the good side of heaven where people have taste.

I mean; what makes a movie "meant for children" then?

What about Ironman 1 for instance is "meant for children"?

It's basically a sci-fi movie.  I have no emotional attachment to these films, you can claim they are meant for toddlers and it doesn't effect my ego, but I'm having trouble understanding where you are coming from.   It's not inappropriate for kids but that's different.

If the goal of the movie is to sell toys, yes it is for kids.

No one is saying toddlers. Those movies are rated G and in this day and age theres like one movie rated G every year.

Edit: Seriously, just one. So far the only wide release G movie this year was Penguins (Disneynature)

They made a game for human trash. It's okay. It's the fan's fault for asking for a Thief remake in the first place. Some people just can't leave the good memories in the past. Did you know a digital streaming service is making a LotR cartoon series? Havn't I had to sit through this fucking thing like 6 times already.

Lets take a look at the big 2019 releases.

Avenegrs = superhero bs = toys = children
Captain Marvel = superhero bs = toys = children
Shazam = superhero bs = toys = children
Us = no toys = adults
Glass = no toys = adults
The Upside = no toys = adults
Pet Sematary = no toys = adults
La Llorona = no toys = adults
Dumbo  = toys = children
Lego Movie = toys = children

Pretty simple.

Kids don't use toys anymore james.

It's all about selling apps and dlc now.

If the goal of the movie is to sell toys, yes it is for kids.

No one is saying toddlers. Those movies are rated G and in this day and age theres like one movie rated G every year.

So Alien / Aliens is "for kids" too?   As someone else mentioned, Robocop?

And this idea that they exist to sell toys is kind of nonsense;  that's a small fraction of Disney's revenue.  They make way more money on the movies themselves (and TV / streaming syndication.)

Either way that doesn't magically make the content of the movie a kids movie;  again, see Robocop.

So what about the content of the film makes it a kids movie?

Youre really using examples from the mid 80s?

The average 12 year old was sucking dick in an alley for crack in 1987.

For example, Cauliflower Of Love's mom.
