We see only the very beginning of the violence against her. Because of the narrative it's established that she was killed in this violent confrontation, but we have no idea how to verify this (and this is comic books she could still be alive since her death occurred off page). In the same way Wolverine planned on killing the fuckers that did this to her, and while it occurred off screen as well, it's heavily implied that Wolverine killed them.
And lets take note of the bloodthirsty comment the author made that catharsis should have came from on page violence in return.
