White people educating other white people is like having the fox guard the henhouse.

White people expecting minorities to educate them is onerous in a system that already oppresses them. There are plenty of white people who have at least basic understandings of privilege and how racism is supported by ambivalence who can explain these concepts to stupider white people.

Yeah but the whole, "it's not my responsibility to teach them" thing has always been a dumb cliche, the people that say it actively engage in social media platforms about social justice and obviously enjoy discussing it. It's not detrimental to anyone in any way to explain why racism/sexism/whatever is bad.

I like how it's 2 groups of people being presented here... those who listen to ResetERA and the hard right.
He was simply being concise, your so-called non-fascists like BernieBros, anti-American zealots, tankies and centrists are all indistinguishable from the hard right since they effectively only serve that agenda in the end anyway. If you knew anything about proxy wars like the Korean War you wouldn't make such ignorant comments.

I agree with you here, I have no doubt that most of the people who spout "its not my responsibility to teach them" have not put any effort into any kind of civic improvement in their entire lives and just want to maintain their own little lazy status quo. It's why they've created this whole conspiracy theory about people engaging in bad faith, because it gives them the needed moral excuse to continue to be lazy.

History of modwhining. :rejoice

This is transphobic rhetoric?

Quote
Joanna Harper herself doesn't come close to this conclusion: She effectively says that in some sports it won't have an effect, in others it will. This isn't controversial - it's quite clearly self evident that this won't track across the board. Joanna herself gives the example of how transition therapies won't make you shorter - and this might aid you if you're transitioning as a basketball player, but cause you to lose out if you're transitioning as a gymnast. Her study was very small - and unfortunately it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation, because you simply don't have many trans athletes whom you can study because it's so relatively hostile. This makes it very difficult to find study groups. But Harper's is a limited, small study whose conclusion is specifically about running, and more broadly that some effects are nullified, others aren't and thus the comparative advantage will vary from sport to sport. This is Harper's *own* conclusion.

As such, the idea that "anyone concern posting about genetic advantages by transgender women in competitive sports or claiming transgender women have genetic advantages will be treated as transphobia and/or spreading misinformation" is ludicrous.

Yeah, on this whole "WHITE!" thing, I've noticed a recurring pattern with that Russian-owned shitheel of a "Progressive" Thom Hartmann that's continued on with this Coup ordeal.

Whenever there's a LatinX person he doesn't like, he plays a Race card with no facts to back it up insisting that said LatinX person "Is actually White by the way."

"DiD yOu KnOw ThE dRuG cArTeL lEaDeRs ArE aCtUaLlY wHiTe?" With some psuedogenetics trash about them being "Descended from the Conquistadors" and that their victims in Mexico are all pureblooded Aztec descendants.

And of course now he's calling Guaido a "White Nationalist Neo-Nazi" and insisting that if he wins that Guaido is going to start a genocide against all the brown people in Venezuela or at best start a new Apartheid. Like uh... What? Literally What?

Though given this is Thom Hartmann, I can only assume these are all Kremlin propaganda talking points given his extensive connection to Russia Today.

Quote from: Ms.Galaxy
Bloody tankies... If Trump wasn't president and we had Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders as president, you can bet your sweet ass we'd still be interfering with Venezuela to try and kick the tyrant out. People are suffering, and the longer this continues the worse it's going to be for them. Sure, I'd love a civil uprising, but even those need assistance from the outside. Americans couldn't have successfully revolt against the English back in the 1700s without the aid of France, for example.

Maduro is literally Venezuela's Trump. Stupid, Populist, Authoritarian, Corporate. Looks up to Putin and Xi Baba.

The irony of being Anti Trump but Pro Maduro.

Who are also able to protest without fear of reprisal, and who aren't having their internet traffic monitored for wrongthink by their authoritarian government

In essence then, KF's sociopolitical position is based on what its hosts assume would not ruffle the feathers of its patrons. Given their hosts' stance Anthem, THQ Nordic and now Notch and PDP issues, as well as utilizing "SJW" unironically, it is a reasonable assumption to make that KF views its economic support base as part corporate and mostly center-right and right leaning.

This proves yet again, that gamer culture is vocal toxic trash.

I think it would go a very long way if people did not seek to elevate internet celebrities to hero status with moral backbone, showering them with "Yass queen", "slay queen", "based...".

When the continued survival of someone's fame, relevance and livelihood is perennially reliant on the patronage of many, including those who are toxic, remember to treat him/her/them as a politician.

Yeah, people make mistakes.

Congratulations on being the first to notice it and post about it.

Wow, thats some passive aggresiveness right there!

I wasn't being shitty, just thought I'd point it out.

Definitely the appropriate snarky tone to take and not at all oversensitive...

Riveting discussion!

I totally missed this thread

https://www.resetera.com/threads/subverse-by-fow-interactive-kickstarts-more-than-5x-the-amount-of-money-goal-it-hits-early-access-steam-this-summer-its-an-rpg-porn-game.111530/

Of course RE has to be more prudish than Kickstarter, Pcgamer, polygon and every other outlet that reported about this game

V. List of Prohibited Games

As a general measuring stick, if a game is not appropriate for broadcast on Twitch it is unlikely to be appropriate here. Games that Valve hides on Steam by default due to "adult only sexual content" are also prohibited. Do not discuss these games or create threads about them.

Wasn't there a poster who was going to start working out so he could punch Nazis? What ever happened to him?
