That's why the term doxxing always sounded silly to me. More often than not all the info is arguably public in some way, shape or form. The illegal, nefarious part is the harassment (targeted and/or collective) unless we're talking passwords, bank info, SS numbers etc...

It's still a massive cockup by the E3 organisers and sadly some cumstains may use that info in illegal endeavours.
