Jeff Gerstmann’s name nowhere to be found :curious

Nobody questions that even if the answer to which Gamergater leaked this list is staring them right in the face.

Also, Girlfriend Reviews got doxxed hard.

Someone needs to protect them from RE
Interesting that the so-called "boyfriend" WHO WRITES EVERYTHING HE ORDERS HER TO SAY has a personal gmail address listed, while she merely has girlfriendreviews@gmail.com. More evidence that she is nothing but an android of some kind pretending to be a "girlfriend" (in a most problematic way by enjoying herself) when she's really a filter for the Reddit Member "boyfriend" who is dog-whistling to Boogie1488's armies. And worst of all, dismissed Anita, the savior of gaming, with a joke rather than an actual logical argument and debate.

That's why the term doxxing always sounded silly to me. More often than not all the info is arguably public in some way, shape or form. The illegal, nefarious part is the harassment (targeted and/or collective) unless we're talking passwords, bank info, SS numbers etc...

It's still a massive cockup by the E3 organisers and sadly some cumstains may use that info in illegal endeavours. And while the melodrama of acting like if they were union leaders in a Coca Cola factory in Colombia or Russian journalists is overblown, you can't rule out that some fucking asshole may escalate one day to physical harm.

but there's a massive disconnect between who's actually had their likely home address released, and thus doxxxxxed, and who's got a corporate address in there and which of these people are likely to draw the attention of gators and thus the Nazi attack mobs

from a small sample I took, a lot of these people/outlets are more like MP1st.com than anything anyone's ever heard of

Up until yesterday, however, that list was accessible anyone who clicked on a button on the ESA website, as first spotted by YouTube creator Sophia Narwitz. Since then, The ESA has removed the spreadsheet from its site. But it did not do that before other people were able to download it. At this point, it’s impossible to tell who has the list.

https://venturebeat.com/2019/08/02/e3-data-leak/

VentureBeat is able to source Sophia Narwitz, but resetera can't?

You didn't read the STAFF POST:

Like the fact that it exists and is on HATE SITES:
Well, since Venturebeat names the Twitter/Youtuber person, Sophia Narwitz of Nichegamer, she also has an account on Kiwifarms and frequents it, and also frequents KiA. She is not a person you want to spotlight or praise.

And could very well be the person who delivered the message to the likes of Kiwifarms, a known harassment site who has had it with many media reporters.

Oh god. I mean, I consider Kiwifarms users to be trash persons as is but KiA? Yep, she definitely should not be given a stage here.

they really have no idea what a class action lawsuit actually is do they

If you're conservative then you believe in some sort of hierarchy, and you need a class of people beneath you to make yourself feel good. It's part of your identity.

If everyone's equal, then you're no longer special.

not sure oppression olympics is a derogatory term generally associated with conservatives

Like I can understand the moral argument of the money in sport and entertainment being obscene... But it's pretty weird to see gamers (even self hating ones), familiar with video streaming in general, being so out of touch.

And that is without even touching the hellish takes on Microsoft budget allocation.

ERA has always been rather regressive with any new thing in gaming. I mean, forums in 2019? LOL.

follow up on that Tulsi is a Russian Bot thread: https://www.resetera.com/threads/wsj-bots-target-kamala-harris-racist-conspiracy-theories-during-dem-debate.132558/post-23277849
Quote from: Kirblar
Article: "Bots have been circulating racist attacks during both debates". Poster: "This is just people avoiding her history!"

I mean, at a minimum, it's indicating that they don't actually care about the bots spreading racist garbage.
Quote from: Kirblar
Are people really this ignorant as to how gaming algorithms and media to increase how much a certain topic is present in the conversation?

Fox News with the Ebola stuff in 2014. BENGHAZI/BUT HER EMAILS in 2016. The "Migrant Caravan" in 2018. This shit isn't subtle. What they're doing on TV by blasting the propaganda into a bunch of morons watching their network that ends up bleeding everywhere else is the exact same thing botspam does to trending topics on twitter- it's designed to increase visibility and exposure to people using the platform.

This is the horrible, awful version of the reason people will put a bunch of words in white text on a resume
Quote from: Kirblar
What I'm trying to get across is that if you are someone who sounds like the quoted part below? You really need to do some self-reflection on how you are approaching these topics. (I was looking up the Tulsi/NBC stuff from months back and this came up in the google search results -it's RedState so I'd avoid clicking through unless you really want to verify that I wasn't making it up.) (source)

No one is going to claim (unless they actually are an obsessed stan) that the exchange was good for Harris- it absolutely wasn't and it is something she would need to correct/address going forward to keep her standing in the race. But it's not the only aspect of what's happening here - there's the horserace aspect about this affects Harris in the race, the debate over Harris' record that's been ongoing for months, Tulsi herself being a DINO, and yes, the botnet issues that have been ongoing w/ ugly attacks towards Harris as well as the bots that have been propping up and amplifying Tulsi for years.
Kirblar needs to do some self-reflection to figure out why he thinks Arabs can't sing or dance and why he thinks it's okay to justify war crimes in Korea. Maybe his general disdain for the working class too and why he thought an apt comparison to the forum restructuring here was the invasion of Iraq. What I'm trying to say here is, don't worry about him.
User Banned (1 week): off-topic hostility, prior ban for similar behavior.

Just so youre aware about that posters history

1. Thinks anyone who brought up drone strikes killing hundreds of thousands of innocent lives by Obama and Hilary wasnt a legitimate criticism
2. Thinks we need to be more understanding of the 94 crime bill, arguably the most harmful piece of legislation to the Black community since emancipation
3. Russian bots are the real problem with the criticism of Harris
4. War crimes against Korea = ok

Among many others. I wouldn't worry about him.

And your :brain take:
Quote
Why the fuck don't countries that would not benefit from Russian interference counter attack this? Why doesnt the intelligence community?

To which:
Quote from: Kirblar
*whistles*

Jack Dorsey Maxed Out His Donation to Tulsi Gabbard
The Twitter CEO gave the controversial Democratic congresswoman $5,600—and donated $1,000 to Andrew Yang.

Also, for filler fuel:
Quote from: Kirblar
Seeing people go "Oh Tulsi's so awesome unlike those awful neoliberals!" when she's a gigantic bigot has made me focus on her, yes, because I find it absolutely horrifying. Because she wanted to put people like myself through conversion therapy. Because she's actually the "actively wants to bomb brown people" person people unfairly caricaturize other Dems as. And so yes, I'm focusing on her because of that. But it's not like me having an undying hatred for the DINO is anything new, just search Tulsi and/or Gabbard in my history. I'm pretty consistent on this!

Some real galaxy brain takes ITT about latinx :wag LARPing as cacs and abandoning their culture, when its pretty likely people from highly catholic backgrounds aren't huge boosters of the LGBT movement, people who've been through the rigmarole of legal naturalisation aren't automatically fans of people who skip all that, and people who've literally fled from an authoritarian left wing regime aren't naturally inclined to see left wing position as 'natural good'.

Not sure someone trying to equate immigrating under the Cuban Adjustment Act (especially before 1995) versus immigrating without the applicability of the Cuban Adjustment Act should be talking about galaxy brain takes. Good sleight of hand, though!

Sleight of hand like pretending that either cuba is the only latin country that people emigrate(d) from, or that - for example - nobody wanted to leave Chavez venezuela?

The video description says that it's about Cubans and Venezuelans in Miami.

Remember everyone, when someone wants two people to fight, neither of the two people fighting win. Deep breaths and think. Think. THINK before getting angry. Make sure we're getting mad at what we're actually mad at, not what we're pointed at.

If you're conservative then you believe in some sort of hierarchy, and you need a class of people beneath you to make yourself feel good. It's part of your identity.

If everyone's equal, then you're no longer special.

:dunno

not sure oppression olympics is a derogatory term generally associated with conservatives

Entertaining topic as always, ethnic vs nation loyalty tends to bubble underneath as usual.

FYI I can no longer comment on the data breach because I just received some INSIDE INFORMATION from someone directly involved.  I’m only mentioning this because I’m sure that my generally scintillating insight and commentary will be conspicuous in their absence.

Anything interesting?

Not so much, unless you’re like me and you’re a nosy gossip kind of person.
