Has anyone reached out to the ambisexuals and polysexuals to see how they're coping with their erasure?

I just don't get 2B's design. I don't know why she has to look like that or why people even think that it's sexy. I didn't even know until after I played the game that people thought she was sexy. I definitely don't think the game did good because of her, but maybe I'm wrong.

Isn't Yaoi typically porn that tends to remove or have highly diminished roles for women characters?  Like, it's kind of odd just how often you bring this up, especially in context of Persona 5 with your avatar + cover photo as Joker is 16

Like, looking this up, I get this :

Yaoi is used to describe titles that contain sex scenes and other sexually explicit themes

Shounen-ai is used to describe titles that focus more on romance and do not include explicit sexual content
Yaoi in the community I’m in is more ambiguous and relates both with the actual definition and Shounen-ai. As for women roles, Yuri would be what you look for (again in the terms of mainly non-sexual romantic-centric content). I’m not into Yuri much due to my orientation and interests, but if people enjoy them I will not stop them. Are there problems in both, yup more than certain.

Also his actual name is Akira/Ren (depending on what content you viewed first), Joker is his Persona name. Please I’d rather refer to him as Akira and/or Ren.

Another one from MainMain:

https://www.resetera.com/threads/what-sort-of-anime-love-story-is-better-yaoi-or-yuri.144226/
:ryker

Quote from: MainMain, post: 25098895, member: 57943

I do want to admit I have some bias leaning towards yaoi due to my orientation being for men and much less for women. Even if a yuri anime had a great plot and had great characters, I still couldn’t relate myself with what they’re feeling. Which I can perfectly understand why people who have romantic feelings for women would enjoy such. Think of someone who’s asexual watching an ecchi anime, that’s sort of how I feel about yuri.

Though yeah, regarding if yaoi is referring to the NSFW content or not, this thread mainly covers the general SFW spectrum of BL and GL.

And I guess this is a pretty large generalization, but it feels like RE has less gay members compared to hetero/lesbian/bisexual members.

Quote from: MainMain, post: 25101008, member: 57943

I mean isn’t a lot of the yuri out there cishet guys who draw those ships because they don’t wanna see any sort of guy because apparently men aren’t as comfortable with being more lovey with other guys? Like a lot of the yuri is sexually charged for that male gaze. Which it’s got the same issue with Yaoi in regards to sexually charged content; though from my experience a lot of the Yaoi written out there are created for women being more story and character focused.

More or less, I’d say be more open about watching Yaoi because of the little Yaoi being created is pretty well done, in comparison to the ubiquity of yuri. Like, you’d see more people shipping Lucina and Female Corrin than you do with shipping Male Corrin and Xavier, as an example of this imbalance.

Quote from: MainMain, post: 25110772, member: 57943

I guess that’s the main problem I have with yuri. It’s just really dull and boring to watch and just disinterests me overall.

Quote from: MainMain, post: 25111414, member: 57943

I mentioned this before, but I think a big reason why is that I can’t really sympathize or relate with any main character in a yuri. Sure the story can be great and all, along with characters being developed, but I just feel kind of off watching characters I can’t relate to in any way. Again sort of how an asexual person feels about ecchi anime.

I love the irony where you have people arguing that a single piece of entertainment can negatively influence a person to commit violence, while the media spends weeks goading anyone into committing a mass shooting ... yet, still nothing happened.

It's almost like these things are nuanced and multi-faceted. The same thing they know to be true when they defend entertainment they approve of.

I can't believe these discussions are still happening in 2019. I naively thought that these things would be a remnant of the past. But I guess there will always be a new generation of people that have to work through it again.
nevermind the threads celebrating the gruesome, realistic violence of the last of us 2. Cuz cutting off human heads and bloodily hacking up baddies 1000 times over builds good neuron connections.

Please don’t let anyone on Era find out the things Ozzy Osbornes did to his wife, considering the Disney royalties he gets for Black Sabbath’s Iron Man.
Given how easily they’ve glossed over The Immigrant Song being in Thor, I’m sure they could turn another blind eye.
Considering how many 70s/80s rockstars likely porked dubious aged groupies, you'd probably have to go blindfolded.

Pretty obvious ERA mods read this thread and corresponding thread on GAF.

What’s weird is that ERA launched with a posture of looking to ignore cross forum stuff. They mentioned it was too much work plus the fresh start nonsense.

What happened?

Nothing "happened", they were (are) full of rich, creamy shit.

I saw that "Latinos are 18% of the population where is our representation?!!" Thread. My initial thought was the person must not understand representation. Pretty sure around 18% of characters in most shows are latino.

Honestly, these kids have no idea what 18% or representation looks like. If it's not 50% it's nothing apparently?

I mean at least on this forum we've definitely had arguments about this based on some draft scripts which I believe were more emphasizing of the 'joker isn't getting laid' plot points. Hardly surprising that the movie isn't as bad, as rarely are draft scripts reflective of the final product, but instead we get a movie that traffics in mature subject matter without introducing mature themes -- and has had to bear the brunt of multiple missteps that can be laid solely at the feet of the director, this choice included.

You know this but people regardless we’re shitting on the film months before  the first trailer come out.

In perhaps the least shocking news ever, the witness in the Botham Jean case was killed in a drug deal gone wrong. He also shot someone. Era has embarrassed itself for the 197476 time by jumping to conclusions. At least this time theyve learned their lesson.

Just kidding, theyve tripled down on the conspiracy angle. Apparently the cops shot someone else while for some reason leaving 3 opposition witnesses.

Umm not saying that I used to go to school in the middle of bumfuck Iowa and would drive 300 miles to get to Chicago to get something other than ditch weed which I would then of course burn in a ditch because weed is the devil, not to redistribute (with a small handling fee) to honkeys who were too afraid to do it otherwise

And that none of the fellows I met along the way were ever armed with anything but a sharp wit

Nobody is going to drive 5 hours for a dime bag.

Someone is DEFINITELY driving 5 hours for 12lbs of weed as we speak.
