You guys are totally right.

BRB changing the standard used by my entire country, just a sec.
Celcius makes sense just like metric measurements.
0=freezing point of water
100=boiling point of water.

Fahrenheit is fucking incomprehensible and makes no logical sense to normal humans.

I'm not boiling water, though. 0F-100F are the yearly temperature ranges for most places where humans live, with 0F being very cold and 100F being very hot. Seems pretty easy to understand to me. :trumps

What does that even mean, "very cold" and "very hot"? Freezing temperature = 0 and boiling =100, it doesn't get any simpler than that.

If you go outside in 100C weather, you'll die. I'll take 100F instead.

One argument to switch to Kelvin is that news programming could be even more alarmist about the weather.

It‘s going to be 300 degrees tomorrow!!!

Somehow, some way, we 'mericans remember that 32F is freezing and to expect ice and snow near or below that temp, and remember how any given temperature reading feels above that without it pertaining to the super relevant boiling point of water.

Somehow.

Although unlike most of the rest of the world we don't get to spend our days remarking on how much our temperature scale makes sense;  "Bloody bloke it's 33.2% of the boiling temp of water today, a real scorcher, it was only 31.7% of the boiling temp of water just yesterday ol' chap!"

The British are even worse, they use both. I think getting Prime Minister Boris is a just punishment for that.

Same over here but I've been fortunate. My flat is pretty heat-resilient because of orientation (provided I open windows at night to cool it down) and I'm working in climatized offices all week.

Count me in the contingent of "cold is a lot more tolerable".

If anyone needs a good fan, check out the Vornado "Energy Smart" line.  They're pricier, but are super-quiet on the lower settings.  I don't usually feel the need to turn it up to more than like 15-25% power and it doesn't make a sound.  :o

Get an ice-bucket and keep it well stocked. Then you can pop the can back into the ice between delicate sips.

I mean, if it gets any warmer you'll need an ice bucket for the ice bucket, but that's the price of a cold bevvy.

We got a water cooler at the commune 3-4 months ago, something that I opposed because (1) Nestle is comically evil, and (2) our municipal water is fine and one of the only infrastructure items that gets kept up by our beleaguered city, but alas I was overruled in a rare instance on my part of not just voting in support of every proposal (a good way to troll anarchists is to just agree with them all the time because deep down they crave conflict more than anything). Anyway, we blew through a month's supply as soon as the heatwave finally came to Southern California earlier this month and now we have a useless appliance until Nestle brings us more water from indigenous land or whatever.

Unfortunately heat like that kills li-ion batteries or at least drastically lowers their capacity (permanently). Other components like the screen may get damaged, too.

Don't try to charge it before it has cooled down or it may actually catch fire or explode!

Way too hot and our country isn't build for this. We need more air conditioners, sunscreens etc. .

There's a law here that doesn't allow monumental buildings to be retrofitted with air conditioners or other things that might 'change the aesthetic of the building' and guess where your boy Nintex has his office.  :-\
I've taken about 4 showers today to cool down and I'm about to have my 5th because I just had a hot meal which again increased by body temperature.

Most comfy times were in my car. Just turn the dial to -5C and let it rip blasting The Underdog Project Summer Jam with a semi-open window and a refreshing drink.

I'm surprised my Asthma hasn't kicked in yet. Which it usually does when it gets so hot.
