I have not caught covid to my knowledge. I just wear surgical masks. I find N95 really uncomfortable. I could never find a good fit.

"Mask? We didnt bring masks"
"Im sorry sir, can you please get your mask from your ca and come back and we will seat you"
"But those people dont have masks"
"Theyre eating sir"

I will say this is pretty dumb

go to a restaurant, wear a mask for the walk to the table, then take it off for 2 hours in an enclosed room full of other people also not wearing masks, then put it back on for the walk back outside

I just didn't go to sit down restaurants at all until I was vaccinated

You're supposed to keep your mask on until the food comes to ensure when you talk to the waiter your mask is on and you're not spewing your particles onto them you piece of shit

Still re re.

I didn't drink coffee in a coffee shop for a year until I was vaxxed. Over relying on masks is re re shit. lol. I'm going to go into this restaurant and eat, and wear a mask. but i'm going to eat too, which is also unmasked. Which is it? Yet you get on a pedestal and judge others? Fuck off. Talking about "owning the libs" lol. Strikes to the heart of liberal nonsense: where your judgement is above others' values and decisions but you're the one doing daft re re shit while thinking your shit doesn't stink. If you were that concerned about covid you would order takeout. Your mask is one giant virtue signal, especially in the post-vax world. It'd be tolerable if the liberals had the humility to be able to say,"you know what? I don't know. I'm just trying my best." But no. Read the replies earlier on the page. Liberal judgement. Liberal virtue. Liberal smug. Hopefully the next time you're in a restaurant you choke to death.

Is not about you or your personal risk tolerance.

Its about staff that need to work to pay rent, and reducing their exposure as much as possible.

That's why you wear a mask when ordering a coffee and speaking to the cashier 3 feet away. If you want to sit down and engulf yourself in covid particles that's on you

nothing I said indicated otherwise

no one ever puts their mask back on between bites due to the inconvenience, so in practice the air of every restaurant is fully saturated with covid regardless of any individual's behavior

again this is why anyone who truly cares just doesn't go to restaurants where you sit down and eat unmasked

lmao I actually work/worked in the restaurant business and still believe everything I've said. Pre-vaccine? Sure. Let your mask flag fly. We limited contact as much as we could and ordered takeout. In the early days of the pandemic I delivered pizzas six feet and put that shit on the ground. But after the vaccine with people actually drinking coffee in the the coffee shop? It's a virtue signal. Got entire people sitting there for hours unmasked. It just begs the question of what the fuck is the point of a mask in that type of context, a context I've worked in by the way? Many of us workers ask the same question. "How much is this helping me, really?" is a pretty reasonable thing to ask in that environment which is precisely why the last time you came to the city and went to a restaurant only one server was it? was wearing a mask. Jobs I've done during the pandemic: delivered pizzas, bussed tables, cleaned restaurants and bars. I'm the staff you're trying deflect and "protect" and this is what many of us actually think. lmao

Meanwhile that Covid freak out shit costs people jobs. Bunch of dumb mother fuckers freaking out about Omicron, which has a lower risk than the flu, which ends up making businesses make less, which makes people - the very people you claim to want to protect - lose jobs. More victims to liberalism and their endless fear based dog overreactionary dog shit.

In case you haven't noticed there is much resentment between classes how the upper class pathetic social anxiety fucks get to not actually risk their lives over the PANINI while the rest of us slave away thankless and have to pull our bootstraps as some rich white cunt re re's about protecting others when he's too afraid to go outside. The real kicker? These upper class people are more likely to be full fledged communists. They're not even actual working class lmao. Fuckos. Bunch of virtue signaling assholes talking about "what about yer mask" and "protecting others" lmao. Welcome to our life. It's ground zero, nicca. Kiss my ass.

They aren't. They're champagne socialists. When you're constantly talking down to the people you supposedly care about, you're not the good guy/gal you think you are and you're certainly not a socialist.

I think a society where attractive women dont wear masks, but ugly men and ugly women do is exactly what we should be striving for.

This isnt controversial. We're all comfortable with women exposing most of their chest (as the lady with the white dress on the right is doing) and we make damn sure men are buttoned up to the neck. Same with legs. Men need to be covered to their ankles while women can show us all.

Masks should be no different.

And before you ask, I am happy to do my part and wear a mask

Thinking back to January when I went to the delicious Old Spaghetti Factory with my mom.

A family of four arrived before us and goes up the the hostess stand. Before they can ask for a table, the hostess asks them to put on their masks, as per the state mandate.

"Mask? We didnt bring masks"
"Im sorry sir, can you please get your mask from your ca and come back and we will seat you"
"But those people dont have masks"
"Theyre eating sir"
"You are really telling us we need a mask or have to leave?"
"Yes"

And their tone was like the concept of a mask had never occurred to them. Absolutely baffled that a mask may be required during a statewide mask mandate.

So they left and we took their table.

Going hungry to own the libs.

i don't think anyone loves it, but a lot of people seem to be ok with it

of course most of the people who do love the idea don't actually have any wealth to be taxed

As always, the people who think we should pay more tax think the cut off point for who should pay more should be anyone earning $1 more than them.

This cut off point scales up as the person screeching gets a pay rise.

Close friend of mine (female, 30, fat) who was boosted in November has covid and going through a very rough time. Trouble breathing, ox at 95, headache, fatigue. Basically worse than when I had covid pre-booster.

CDC also confirmed today that booster goes to shit after 4 months.

March will be interesting.

Remember at the start of the pandemic when millionaires and billionaires were trying to scoop up ventilators for their personal use just in case they got Rona?

I remember.

Looks like Covid cases in the UK are settling down to where they were pre-Omicron at 40k a day.

Which isnt exactly great. At a 0.5% fatality rate, that would mean 200 daily deaths in perpetuity.

For the US, if we settle at 80k cases a day, that means 400 deaths a day in perpetuity. Or 2,800 a week or 146,000 a year.

For reference, right now the 7 day average is 1,964 daily, and the last low was 254 a day on July 11.

Is that the back to normal everyone is hoping for?

We had a peak of 400k last tuesday, we're now down to 100k again  :)

US has a population about ~20 times larger than the Netherlands.
So in US numbers 400k would be 8 million cases in 1 day.

Where are you getting the 200 deaths from? The latest UK figures are 35 deaths. Given that it averages around 2-3 weeks to succumb to Covid, these 35 deaths should be considered against the 100,000s of cases the UK experienced a few weeks ago.

So even if cases remained at 40,000 in perpetuity (they won't), recent figures suggest that there would be a death rate dramatically lower than 0.5%.

Youre looking at a Monday, I'm looking at the 7 day average

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/

If you refer to the 'Deaths within 28 days of positive test by date of death' table over at https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/deaths?areaType=overview&areaName=United%20Kingdom - you can distill the latest seven day rolling average figures by hovering over the days in the table.

The latest 7 day average figure I could find is 164.4 - this was on the 6th February. When you consider that the table represents deaths over the last 28 days, this is essentially reading as an average of 164.4 against a timespan that saw daily case numbers range from 130,000 - 70,000.

So......

If we look at cumulative cases for the latest 28 day period (15th Jan - 13th Feb), we arrive at a total of 2,405,991 cases(nb. the last few days of this data is incomplete but that shouldn't materially change things)

7 day average of 164 deaths within 28 days of a positive covid test would give us an overall % of 0.007%.

At 0.007%, if this ratio continued we would be looking at around 3 deaths per 40,000 infections.

Usual caveats apply: Firstly, some of the data is comprised of an average which is never a great starting point. Secondly, whilst the deaths are averaged over 7 days, the numbers of cases it is measured against are exact and reported on a daily basis over 28 days.

Even so, it's quite clear that this is significantly less than 200 deaths per 40,000 infections.

Is he wrong though? He also wasn't accusing her, but her party. Looking at the trucker protest there were people waving nazi flags.

Trying to twist this into some antisemitism thing shows the right literally doing the same thing as the left where everything is either racist or transphobic.

I highly suggest watching the video on how he deflects continuously.

Also, characterizing an entire movement of a few bad apples is fine if you're a common citizen but lacking when you're a leader. It shows he views the truckers as an "other" and doesn't take their concerns seriously. I'd be pissed if I were a Canadian. This coming a man that used blsckface.

Extremely poor leadership and a great example of liberalism being a failed ideology.

Politics during the COVID age has basically been pointing Spidermans

:spiders

However the ruling class, science and pharmaceutical community did use all their global institutions and public and corporate media to do a power grab at the expense of the middle class and small bussines using social engineering methods and psychology.

Our governments' response has been audited and so far it shows a lot of neglect and disdain for the public and healthcare professionals. Their policies essentially wiped out the nursing homes.
Over 50% of COVID deaths during the first year occured in nursing homes because of a lack of PPE.

The investigation is still ongoing and you can find the whole report here

I wear a mask when I jog outside. It’s not great, but we have to do it to protect others, especially when exerting ourselves. Everyone in Japan is wearing masks, even outdoors.

Americans seriously seems like churlish babies at this point. It’s a proven method for preventing spread. It’s nothing to do with “muh rights.”
