Stuff like the judiciary took a long time for Republicans to transform while their voters reliably voted Republican under Obama to keep him from implementing policy even though they didn’t get their own policies passed.

The party can’t ignore you if a larger and larger bloc in congress represent your ideas. AOC, Jayapal, Markey, etc won seats in safe blue districts. Showing up and electing more like them moves the party left while not risking taking steps backwards by losing the majority altogether.

There are some really good nuanced takes in that thread, so I'm assuming because its too early for the US Nation Of Islam sympathisers contingent to have woken up and bring their insight on global affairs despite having never left their borough that saying the victims were definitely bigots isn't victim blaming tho takes.

But it's also pretty funny watching them making reasonable points and dancing towards reaching the endpoint that yes, modern liberal values are actually a good thing and things like freedom of speech should be protected under an edge-lord atheism umbrella, but not reconciling their double think over secular belief systems that are just as much faith oriented as religious systems.
