They love the filmmaking on display in The Assistant that much is clear but the subtle digs about it not being preachy about the subject matter and the main character not making a big speech about how morally fucked up the whole situation is shows you where they stand.

and i just got off the phone reporting the indecent to my so called reporting manager and wow. fuck me. his attitude was "i put you on in good faith because you seemed like a good worker with a great mentality, but its your second day and youre already giving me these problems i need to handle"

i was shaking. shocked. i need the money right now so badly and if his attitude is this im pretty sure ill be replaced soon anyway. i was fairly shocked about the 2 practises in themself but my managers attitude made my blood boil.

i even said i dont want to formally report the 2 incidences i just felt uncomfortable and maybe he could have a talk to the people who did these 2 things and he insinuated that he had an outside work relationship with one of the workers and he "cant even believe that they would be racist" and "it would be very hard to prove".

Im still shaking and livid. Its 20 fuckin 21 and this shit is still so easily accepted in workplaces. I even said to him "what if i was female, and its my second day, and im being harassed by a male college, should i not say anything because its my 2nd day and i need the job?"
