Don’t worry it wasn’t serious enough that he wanted to file a formal complaint, he just wanted to burden his manager with the information so that any inaction could spectacularly backfire in the dudes face when this guy goes full meltdown two months into the job.

Why do I think this was a normal conversation that they read entirely wrong?

Now, if you mean, you can drive to another place (Indian Reservation, offshore gambling, etc) that is not regulated by the laws of the United States and gamble $100? Sure. In the 23 states that have some form of casino gambling regulated by state law, those are heavily regulated, a percentage of the revenue that they generate goes back to programs that try to address some of the ills associated with gambling, like addiction for instance, and all of those places are regulated to try to reduce public harm. It's also not really a coincidence that most of the states that have legalized casino gambling did so because there were other less regulated gambling establishments a short drive away (Indian reservations, river/offshore, etc)

So Casinos are responsible businesses because they give a pittance to gambling addict groups

A person has a right to drink beer, just like a person has a right to invest.

A person does not have a right to drink so much beer they're at risk of causing harm to themselves or others - i.e. public drunkenness laws - and there's strict restrictions on the way businesses can provide alcohol to people to prevent them from being exploited and harmed by those businesses. The same is true - or at least, SHOULD be true - of investing.

I can completely understand Nintendo, Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel and DC fanboyism. Iconic characters that have withstood the test of time, and have huge nostalgic, and even cultural value. I totally get it and even participate in some of it myself.

I cannot understand Sony fanboyism in the slightest. They make consumer electronics. Their first party games are all made by second or third parties that they have acquired and literally none of them have any cultural cache at all.
