Because of how pedophilia is talked about in public, it always seemed like humanity decided there's good, normal people and that there's the few monstrous people that are capable of hurting children (at least, sexually), or are ok with it. However, when you think about it, child abusers aren't doing things in complete secret.

Like, there were people around rich folk like Jimmy Savile or MJ that, whether or not they aided in illegal activity, knew what they were doing and turned a blind eye for various reasons.

Even poor/middle-class people that are holed up somewhere watching child porn most likely have some people they talk to about their "hobbies", online or in-person, that let them be.

Or even those same people that abuse others close to them, and it just becomes another dark family secret or neighborhood story.
