I wonder if $WBD might be worth a punt for the coming days/weeks... with Multiversus seeming like it could be a real hit, I could see a metaverse/"the next Fortnite!!?!1!" narrative springing up around their properties and giving it a bit of a pump. Maybe it makes the gaming divison that they've been trying to sell off forever look more appealing too.

From what I've read over the past couple of days the company doesn't function because of a lack of discipline among the WFH crowd and slacktivists (Who could've predicted that :trumps)
And now they have the added problem of a CEO that ignores market trends and ignores "what the audience actually wants" by burning billions trying to built his own Second Life clone and he blames his own failure on his staff.

I think VR is exciting and it's a field worth investing in but what the hell are they spending that money on because it certainly ain't the graphics or the hardware :doge :lol
He can't reverse like this either. I bet in a few weeks we'll get lenghty articles about how 'TOXIC' Facebook has become because you can no longer do 1 day work weeks to work on your side projects and "mental health" instead.

It seems Facebook is about ready for a Microsoft buy out.

Facebooks biggest problems have been clear for a very long time.

They started with college kids. Great. Tons of sexy bikini pics and such. $$$$

They opened up to boomers.

Boomers cant control themselves and made it shitty.

Kids didnt want to join a platform where their aunts share memes. No one on earth under 25 has a facebook account. Not one.

The college kids got older and stopped posting bikini pics.

Everyone complains that the feed is 90% non friend related content, but thats essential because 90% of friends dont post. And the 10% that do are the people you dont want to see all the time anyway.

Exact same thing happened with Instagram, except they dug their grave faster by doing the story thing, which meant theres no way to go back and browse bikini pics.

Opening up the internet to boomers, corpo's and normies has been the problem from the get go.

We should've chased them off a long time ago and never helped anyone with their 'computer problems'.

The James Plan to save social media:

--Under 18 can like but not post or comment
--Hotties ages 18-24 are prioritized on all feeds
--To encourage hotties posting daily, they get a 2% cut on all ad revenue generated near their post. More likes = more cash(more tiddies (or abs for the bois) = more likes)
--Individuals aged 40+ must pay per post/comment. Hot take? Thats $3 to submit.
--Add the same search engine porn sites use so you can find new people to follow (ie, asian bbw)

Dow tumbles nearly 600 points into bear market territory, sets a new low for the year

Stocks tumbled on Friday to close out a brutal week for financial markets as surging interest rates and foreign currency turmoil heightened fears of a global recession.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 700 points to fall below 30,000 to a new low for the year. The 30-stock index is fell 20% from its high, known as bear market territory on Wall Street. It was last trading 548 points lower, or 1.8%. The S&P 500 fell 2% and headed for a new 2022 closing low, while the Nasdaq Composite slid about 2%.

The non-executives who job hopped and received greater salaries these past several months are going to be the first on the chopping block with the inevitable round of layoffs. There is very much a sentiment of businesses getting even and they’ll do what they can to get it. Same goes for the WFH crowd. All those people buying homes far away from the office because they don’t have to come in are going to regret it. I’m not saying it’s right, it is what it is.

and Deutsche

The numbers for Credit Suisse:

$160b Cash
$400b at call Liabilities
$900b Leveraged exposure
$40b Equity

That's a $900 billion bailout  :whew

For Deutsche better not look at the numbers  :doge
