Wishing to know more does not imply not knowing anything, at least for me.  Also, you do not need to know everything about a process to feel like it is flawed.

That can be a pretty Trumpian idea but you are not totally wrong about that, but I also think it would be unhealthy to give opinions and hot takes.

Yes as far as anyone can actually be impartial.  If you are selecting by asking about BLM, you might as well be asking if they watch Fox news or voted Trump, both of which would be wrong.

See, I think is reasonable to kick someone from jury duty for watching Fox News at this point in life. I also sure as hell I will okay to with kicking out the DefundThePolice guys even If I think the Cop is a scumbag that needs to be jailed.

How that officer didn’t know she wasn’t using her Taser instead of a heavier Glock is fucking insane.

Pulled over for expired tags. Warrant was for an unpaid fine for weed possession. He was fleeing. That weapons were involved at all at any step during this process is disgusting.

One of the reporters talked about how everyone is having problems right now getting tags renewed too.

Unlike Floyd's killing, this is more clear-cut and indefensible, so hopefully, it doesn't lead to what happened last year, but I guess that depends on how the city handles the protests.  Chauvin's trial should end next week, which is also going to make things intense.

Looking at the footage that gun wasn't accidentally equipped and if you can't tell your taser from your gun you have no business having a gun in the first place.  :doge
The excuse that this was somehow a 'mix up' is absolute horse shit.

Nothing.  I meant that not even the police department or conservatives will be able to defend this one.  Hence there might not be a departmental/rightwing pushback and hence less reason to protest in the same way as last year.

That's now but not then.   A large part of the initial outrage was that the department downplayed the event until the video went viral and they were only fired after the video.  It took a few days for Chauvin to be charged and it took nearly a week for the other officers to be charged.  Compare that with today's press conference where they showed the video first thing and basically said she was fired.

She said she thought it was her Taser. Good enough for me. #beliveallwomen

The defense witness right, Barry Brodd, now is total scum.  Says he doesn't consider putting a knee on a proned person a use of force.  Also a lot of talk about excited delirium and superhuman strength.  Shit is so dumb.

Chauvin was not on top of Floyd because Barry Brodd thinks being on top of means laying down on top of  :dead

Chauvin's defense has spent like 20 mins talking about how carbon monoxide from having his face next to the car's exhaust might have contributed to his death.

Should be but I don't think they can ask him if Chauven is then responsible for putting him in a dangerous situation.
Also turns out that he has no evidence that the car (which was a hybrid) was even on, other than the expert seeing some water droplets on the tailpipe.

The same guy also highly suggested but 'never stated' that a white object in Floyd's mouth was a pill.  Store video clearly shows its gum.

I didn't realize the defense got victim statements or whatever they are called for that side. "when you sentence my son you will also be sentencing me"  fuck off.

It’s a bold move to continue to act like a victim in your sentencing hearing. Should have not had any statements if he wasn’t going to accept blame for Floyd’s death.

22.5 years.  Really not enough, but it's way better than the outcome I thought would happen at the start of the whole trial.

Seems excessive given the average for second degree is like ~15 years?

One of their notably underrated films. Fantastic.
