Yay:
+ Finally started grad school
+ Ran my first federal grant that I wrote and was awarded
+ Made big step toward repairing relationship with mother that has been low contact for two decades
+ Just found out wife is pregnant with our second

Nay:
- Senior leadership at my agency decided to kill my program despite federal grant
- Only went on one long motorcycle ride this year
- Things could be going a lot better financially—didn’t get to take a vacation
- Got older, weaker, clothes don’t fit

Gay:
~ A board I advise made up of mostly queer youth has had lots of success this year despite many challenges
~ Read some interesting books on queer liberation and trans identity
~ Took a day off to see Argylle in theater because Henry Cavill is a dreamboat

Yay:
Got my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science this year
Have seriously improved my physical fitness in the last 6 months, continuing to do so. Have gained like 15 lbs of muscle doing calisthenics and ring work

Nay:
Getting laid off today, nothing lined up
Job market is fucking insane for trying to break into development work
Unemployment = depression + fear, I am my own safety net, no contact with family these days, so this next year will be make or break for me
Currently isolating myself

Gay:
Seeing Alyssa Edwards win Drag Race Global All-Stars was wonderful as a longtime fan
Going to download Wicked today

Yay
  • Landed a new job
  • Had a fantastic vacation to Okinawa, my first non-emergency time off in more than a decade
  • Celebrated 1 year alcohol-free

Nay
  • Mom passed in April after spending last 4 years in a Memory Care facility
  • New job has had a disproportionate amount of drama due to inexperienced participants in leadership

Gay
  • Pretty sure entering anything here will put DOGE or the be-diapered POTUS on my ass
  • If anything, the bullshit blitzkrieger conservative turn the USA is taking only makes me that much more fighty and bitey on behalf of non-hets
