Just came back.
It's C+ entertainment. Worth a flyer or catch it on HBO if you're bored. I enjoyed a lot more than I did than the very mediocre and sometimes boring Fantastic Four. It's rather short for a superhero origin film, as it clocks in shy of two hours, so its not long enough to get bloated and preachy.
Nic Cage is pretty good in the role. He's likeable and gets the dry, quirky character angle going, so I dug him. When he's on screen, its arguably the best part of the movie.
Eva Mendes is so fucking hot in this movie. She's showing a ridiculous amount of cleavage and her curves are in all the right places - I'd marry this woman.
I was kind of surprised at the humor in this movie. It works. The only hokey scenes belong to the movie's main villain, who is this emo Devil wannabe whose motivation is, "Daddy Satan doesn't love me enough, so I'm going to take over the world! Mwuhahahaha!" He's the lamest part of the movie.
Ghost Rider has to fight him and his three elemental goons in order, like a videogame. I thought most of the action sequences involving Ghost Rider fighting the elementals were meh and short. The best sequences are Ghost Rider himself destroying the city and fighting cops. Arguably, the best part in the movie is...

... Ghost Rider is cornered on a bridge, cops in both directions, so he jumps off the bridge into the water. The water begins to boil, and he rises to the top. He begins to ride on the water, engulged in flames, as he gives the authorities the middle finger and laughs as he rides off. Fuck you, police!
I can think of far worse movies to spend your time seeing. As of now, in the spectrum of recent releases, I'd rank it above Constantine but definitely below the top tier stuff. If they got a better script with an actual interesting villain, I'd possibly buy a ticket for a sequel. Nic Cage is
that good in the role. The movie should move more around him, not the head that is a skull and is on fire.
