THEATER EXPERIENCES! Share yours

I remember my first REAL theater experience where I got into the movie. Batman in 1989. Nothing can top that experience for me. I had a little batman action figure with me and I was mesmerized even though I was only like 4.

Seeing TMNT opening night was huge for me too.

Though the most excited I ever was going to a movie was probably A New Hope in '97. Everyone cheered and went crazy when a new scene happened even if it was meaningless.  :lol

The other week, Willco got really drunk kinda buzzed hassled on the phone by Crystal slightly inebriated with our stupid mick friend and made a scene.  It was actually better than the movie, which was Smokin' Aces.

Too bad some little black kid ruined it by standing up and cheering throughout the movie.

You went to it in theaters? You were only 8 when it came out. Seems to bit a bit serious for someone that age

I was two when Batman came out. My parents went to see it and left me at my grandma's house :lol

Anyway my favorite experience at the theater would have to be seeing Revenge of the Sith at the midnight showing on opening day. While the movie wasn't great, the total experience was amazing.

Me and my friend planned to head to the theater an hour and a half before it started to avoid huge lines but we miscalculated. The line was filled with people dressed up as Darth Vader and other characters, and I saw many parents with their small children, faces painted in some cases. Thirty minutes before the trailers started player we were put inside the theater - it was fucking huge. I've been in that room before, but I had never seen it totally full; at least a hundred people were in there, and the movie wasn't even about to start.

I sat in the back with my buddy and his cousin. There was a guy behind us and to the right who wouldn't stop talking holy shit. For the next 30min he entertained the entire audience with his bullshit lol. He was dressed like Obi Wan

Nerd: No no, actually the Emperor doesn't die there. The second clones of Luke and Leia actually kill him for good hundreds of years after ROTJ. This is all documented of course

He'd keep saying "this is documented" whenever he heard people laughing.

Nerd: Now that I'm here to see this movie my new most anticipated life event is the Playstation 3. Did you know it's basically a super computer, well actually it's stronger than a super computer. It's perhaps the most powerful non-military electronic ever created.
 :lol

When he wasn't talking this guy in the front would get out of his seat and basically play hype man for the movie.

Dude: WHO'S HERE FOR STAR WARS
Entire crowd: YEAHHHHH
Dude: ARE YOU READY?
Entire crowd: YEAAAAHHHH
Dude: WAS ANYONE IN HERE THERE BACK IN 77?
Older people in the crowd: YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Dude: DID YOU CAMP FOR TICKETS?
Younger people in the crowd: YEAHHH
 :lol

So finally the trailers start, and when they finished the crowd got even more hyped. When the LucasFilm sign flashed across the screen the entire front row went crazy, and everyone behind clapped. At the end of the movie people stood and cheered, and I saw some people crying. Wow

When we left the theater and got into the car, I looked out the window and saw the nerd standing alone. Out of his pocket he pulled out this lightsaber and started waving it. It was the kind that lights up, so it looked real in the dark. HOLY SHIT :lol

Yeah.  My dad wanted to see it.  My dad has seen every film that has anything to do with Vietnam.  And my Dad would always let me watch whatever I wanted.  There was nothing too violent or sexual.  Kind of dysfunctional now that I think about it.

When I saw LotR for the first time in theatres on opening night, or Toy Story, or The Matrix, or Lion King. I saw TMNT 1-3 on screen, but don't remember much.
