The worst pacing I have seen in a movie since Signs.  seriously.  it has some glorious moments but you don't even notice because the whole thing movies at a snails pace.  And the acting towards the end is just atrocious and it gets horribly cheesy.  holy fuck, it could have been so good too.  totally missed the mark.

How can it be bad with Jim Carrey playing the dramatically masterful role of a lifetime, with direction by the fantastic Joel Schumacher (former hairdresser to the stars, director of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin), and with a concept ripped from Michael Jordan's uniform? :(

but really, the first 30 minutes of the movie is actually pure gold and it's all downhill.

actually, i was watching it with my mom and the first 30 minutes are compelling and my mom was like well, my birthday doesn't add up, so I'm awesome.  And then I was like "you were born in 1958.  it adds up to 23.  what the hell are you talking about?"

My mom:  :o

I love how far they reach to connect the number 23 to any given situation. :rofl

well, the point of the movie is actually the absurd nature of these obsessed freaks.  they repeatedly point out how far he's stretching it and in the end there is no "23 conspiracy" or whatever.  that's one thing that I did like about it, they didn't try to make it supernatural like the trailer suggests.

My roommate LOVED THIS MOVIE, but she has terrible taste in everything. Also: Boo. I was hoping there would be like. A ghost or an Israeli conspiracy :(

dude, your roommate definitely has terrible taste then.  even my bad taste couldn't like this and I tried so hard to.  in the middle of the movie I kept telling myself "yeah, it's pretty good."  but at the end I was like "what crap!"  The first 30 minutes are awesome though.
