This place isn't exactly the epitome of discussion a lot of you make it out to be. Not that I'm helping that cause in any constructive way. But, mostly with the mention of allstairw, that got me thinking to how y2kev, chespace, and others eventually just stop posting here. I see white man post on gaf occasionally too. This place is more guilty of hivemind mentality and egocentric arguments with no respect for someone's preferences. When you have bore posters proud of the fact that you can resort to ad hominem attacks and other such asinine attitudes its very presumptious to think anyone would prefer this forum. I have my qualms with Neogaf, but there isn't much of a good alternative besides the somethingawful forums. But like pilonv1 said, it can be overwhelming.

This forum has way better discussion about select games, even if not every game is covered. As for any "attacks", I don't get why someone would take these things personally; to me it seems like everyone is just joking around. I mean, at worst, the only thing you would be getting offended at is someone on the internet who knows you from opinions about video games. Doesn't really make sense. I still use gaf for news, questions and occasional discussion topics. There are benefits to having a large user base sometimes.
As for why a bunch of posters left, I dunno, that's their choice. It's a shame. Not to make too many presumptions, maybe they like having a large audience to read whatever they write about.
